If your bupropion came in a prescription bottle from a pharmacy, there should be a discard date on the bottle, telling you how long your medication is good until. This date is at most a year after you bought your prescription, though it may be shortdated. The "discard after" date is usually located in smaller letters around the "refill" information.

If your prescription came in what is called a "stock bottle", the expiration date is always next to the lot number, usually located on the far side of the label.

My experience with Wellbutrin was yes, it helped me lose weight that I had gained on other anti-depressants. I had been taking EFFEXOR for a long time and kept gaining weight. I was switched to Celexa and told that it shouldn't make me gain weight. I continued to gain weight on the Celexa. I also had sexual side effects. The doctor switched me to Wellbutrin. I had gained 20 lbs. since starting SSRI's. Once I stopped taking those and switched to Wellbutrin, I lost 10 lbs. easily. The other 10 I had to work at to take off, but it came off! On the SSRI's it seemed like no matter what I did to lose weight it wouldn't work. Hope this helps!

I might say that exercise is only the best way to prevent weight gain. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant used to treat a variety of conditions, including depression, other mental/mood disorders, and smoking cessation. Despite taking such medicine, I suggest you follow a proper Nutrition Rich Meal to lose weight and develop a daily workout routine in order to get your desired body.

In my opinion, yes! The regular Wellbutrin didn't help much for depression or anxiety and gave me migraines. However, the Wellbutrin XL has worked wonders for me. I was taking 150 mg / day and am now taking 150 mg 2x / day. I can now deal w/ anxiety and stress. My husband was just prescribed Zoloft for anxiety. The Dr. says Zoloft works better for men than for women. I can attest to that because the Zoloft didn't help me much.

There is little evidence to suggest these medications have and added effect when given together. Lyrica and Neurontin work on the same receptors and have similar side effects, and though there are some cases of using both together, it is typically not recommended. Wellbutrin is metabolized to active metabolitrs. The half life of the parent drug is 21 hours and that of the active metabolites range from 20 hours to 37 hours depending on the metabolite. This means that it can take from 5 to 8 days for the drug to be eliminated from the body.

This exact thing happened to me today. (I'm writing because I "googled" it while I was panicking and couldn't find any posts with this happening to someone else).

I took one 300mg table of Welbutrin at 7 in the morning and forgot I had taken it. I took another at 10 am thinking I missed the first dose and immediately felt weird. I was sitting at the computer and all of a sudden felt out of control or high. I would touch my arms and they felt numb (I could feel the touch but it was like when Novocain starts to wear off at the dentist and you can only feel a little sensation.) Others symptoms were heavy/numb feeling in my arms and legs, panic/anxiety, and like I was going to pass out at any second. I tried to make myself vomit so the pill would be out of my system but that didn't work. I was scared that I would pass out with my two young kids at home and nobody would know. (My husband came home from work immediately). I called both the pharmacist and the doctor and talked to them about it. They said that 600mg taken by mistake is not considered an overdose and that it wasn't worth a trip to the ER. They said I would feel funny for awhile because the pills were extended release, but eventually it would go away. Instant relief. I thought I was going to have a seizure or worse - die. The doctor did tell me to drink whole milk because it had a high fat content, and it would slow the absorption into my small intestine (??). This evening I am feeling much better but still have limited sensation in my hands and feel a little like loopy. I lived through it by just riding it out. Just wanted to post in case this same thing happens to somebody else. I would call your doctor immediately just the same.

Well, I don't know why the doctors told you that 600mg wasn't an overdose, because everything above 450 is. Even given prescribed amounts of either 150, 300, or 450, you are at a high risk for seizure. I took ... I don't know. It was more than 600, but I still had a grand mal seizure and am lucky to be alive. Another time I took just 600 and had a series of petit mal seizures, almost fell down stairs. Luckily I'm at home still so my parents could watch me, plus I'm on so many antidepressants they know it's something. I still had to take charcoal that second time around. First time I just didn't know what the seizure was so I ignored it and was messed up mentally for weeks.

If any symptoms like hearing voices, imagining people, paranoia, irrational thoughts you can't shake, inability to speak or walk normally occur... go to the doctor's immediately. Just say you overdosed on Wellbutrin. They know it's a highly toxic drug; that's why it was taken off the market when it came out and they had to cut the doses but still every dose has a warning that it often leads to seizures if not taken correctly.

I took 900 mg once, and it totally messed me up. I felt like I couldn't choke, it even happened to me when i took 600. I took both doses by mistake, normally I just dump the pills out and feel around for the amount I need, but one time I counted like twice and it came out terrible. I didn't have a seizure or anything, but you definitely get a choking feeling in your throat that doesn't go away for days, and possibly a prolonged cough.

Most opiate patients are chronic pain patients in formal Pain Management programs, and since Depression is common to all pain patients, PM programs typically require patients to go through some type of mental health therapy. Taking Wellbutrin and other AD's with Fentanyl and other opiates is common, but of course not everyone is the same. For some like me, AD's have the opposite effect, so I can't take them. There are those that do benefit though - the best course is to try it for a short period to see if you're getting any benefit.

i have and dr. said it was a sign of bipolar. wellbutrin is, indeed, sometimes used to treat bipolar...but the immediate release and the SR version are not used as often, now that the XL (once a day) version is out. He switched me to the XL version and the problem went away. Researching on the web, I have come across quite a few comments on this subject and most of the people experiencing this seem to experience actual rage as opposed to minor irritability. I had problems with this myself a couple of years ago. I have been told on many occasions that I am an extremely laid-back individual, but after I started taking wellbutrin I noticed that even small things started to cause me to experience almost uncontrollable anger. But they can also help constipation.
