A number of ways to share files between two computers.

1. A home network does not require an external device. On windows xp, and vista as well i believe, it is called workgroup and this allows you to designate which folders you want to share with other computers in the same workgroup. In windows 7 it is called a homegroup

2. A NAS, network attached storage device might be what you're looking for. It's basically a small server attached to your network over wireless or ethernet and you can drop files into the NAS's hard drives. Most have 2 or more hard drive bays so you can expand the storage capacity if you run out.

Nobody knows, ports with so high numbers can be use by any application. If it's a local port most likely it was used by browser or file exchange program.

It sounds like it may be fried. You could try plugging it in and then use the 'find new hardware' tool under the Control panel and see if that works.

create a folder by right clicking. select new from the menu, then select folder, if you are doing this on the desktop you wil now have a folder named new folder on the desktop. you can rename the folder to what ever you like by selecting the title and typing over it.

Now to put a document in a folder you go to file or right click and click save as, a box will come up that will give you options as to what to name the file what format you want to save it in and a way to browse back to the desktop where yo select the new folder you created and then click save. your document is now inside that folder. you can place the folder where ever you like by either dragging and dropping or sending it to.

There would be no reason to do this. I have fixed graphical settings and problems without ever going into safe mode. If the problem is with the monitor itself, then safe mode would have no effect. And if it with your display settings, you need only adjust these settings without the need for safe mode.

Try checking for driver updates for your video card too. This can help get a monitor working.
