A crypt is a code. Encrypt means encode and decrypt means decode. In regards to your computer or internet usage, cryptography happens in the background. Information is encoded so others can't read it if they steal or find your computer, or if they intercept your information while it is on it's way to it's destination on the internet.
Windows only encrypts your drive if you set it up to do so. If you do, the "key," which is what is used to make and decode the encrypted data, is your password. If you forget the password, everything on your computer is lost, forever. If you give others the password, everyone can decrypt and view the data.
More important than encrypting your drive is data encryption. You should always use a secure wireless connection (one with a password) because this is the only way data is not visible to everyone on the network. (Don't believe this? Google "Firesheep.") If you are accessing your bank or paying online with checking account or credit or debit card, ensure you have a secure, encrypted, connection by looking to see that your browser says https:// before the url, NOT http://.

How can you remove U3 software from Kingston USB drives?
I use mbrwiz to wipe the master boot record ( http://mbrwizard.com ), specifically 2.0b version for Windows. Once I unplug and reinsert the USB drive it reinitializes to a clean disk without U3. Keep in mind that this will remove ALL data on the disk! I use the following method under Windows XP: - Download mbrwizard for windows. Unzip and copy it to c:\ - Shell out to a command prompt: Start->Run, type cmd.exe - Start by listing the disks in the system: mbrwiz /list - Identify the disk by the total size as well as the volume label. Find the Disk # associated with this disk. - Wipe the MBR, using the disk # from above, assuming 2 for this example: c:\mbrwiz.exe /disk=2 /wipe=mbr
Once the process is complete simply eject the disk. I typically reinsert the disk into a different USB port, it seems like it helps Windows identify it as a new disk.
How do you configure Windows NT RAS Server to Windows 2000 Ras Server?
Add the RRAS computer to the appropriate group:
1. Log on to your computer with an account that has administrator privileges on the Windows 2000 domain.
2. Launch the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC snap-in, and then double-click the domain name.
3. Double-click the Users folder, and then double-click the RAS and IAS Servers security group.
4. Select the members tab.
5. Add the RRAS server to this group.
If the organization has more than one domain in the forest, and users from the different domains are trying to log on to the RRAS server, continue to follow steps 1 through 5 until the RRAS server is in the "RAS and IAS Servers" security group for each respective domain.
Use the Netsh.exe Utility
The Netsh.exe methods can only be used if the RRAS server is Windows 2000-based.
Use either of the following methods with the Netsh.exe tool:
1
Log on the RRAS computer using an account that has domain administrator privileges, type netsh ras add registered server at a command prompt, and then press ENTER.
2
To run a command with administrator privileges without being logged in as an administrator:
1. At a command prompt on the RRAS computer, type runas /user:domain name\administrator name "cmd", where domain name is the appropriate domain name, and administrator name is the appropriate administrator name. You are then prompted to enter a password for this account. If this computer is able to connect to the domain controller and verify the credentials, a command prompt opens with the following information in the title bar:
cmd (running as domain name\administrator name)
2. At a command prompt, type netsh ras add registeredserver at a command prompt, and then press ENTER.

What is a good computer software program to help manage your appointments and contacts?
The Registry is the central storehouse for all settings for the Windows operating systems. This includes hardware configuration, file associations, and control panel settings. Many other programs will also store settings in the registry. The registry is made up of "Keys". Each key is like the branch of a tree. Each key has one parent key, and zero or more child keys. Each key can contain zero or more "Values", each of which contains a single piece of data.
It's a hub communicating at USB2.0 speeds.
To know if you have USB2.0 hardware / software:
In Window XP:"Right click my computer, then "manage", select device manager and scroll down to USB controllers. Click the + then look for the word "Enhanced" in either of the host controller listed. If there's 1 with Enhanced, then you have USB2.0 capable hardware.
See the related link for more info about USB1.1 and USB2.0

I found this info on some other sites. The problem is with Norton Anti Virus (not Norton Internet Security). If you disable the MS Office plugin option it fixes the problem.
Here's a link that shows how to do it.
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=109
If the above didn't help or not applicable, user profile could be corrupted in some way.
To fix it, try logging as the local admin or another user with admin level rights. Then hide the profile in question located in 'C:\Documents and Settings\' by renaming it. I usually add "OLD_" before the original profile name to make it recognizable while renaming it differently.
Afterwards, have that user login again which would re-create the user profile. After the profile was re-created files and settings could be transferred.
This problem also happens when you do not even have Norton Anti Virus installed on your computer. It is due to a Corrupt file. To fix - completely uninstall Microsoft Office then reinstall. You must uninstall Office first then do a complete reinstallation. Doing a repair does not fix it.
The scenario that seems most common is a manufacturer that pre-installs Windows XP for you and then does not give you a CD to go with it. I think this is a bad practice but I understand that it may save the manufacturer and ultimately you a little bit of money.
Hopefully what that manufacturer has done is copy the Windows XP CD-ROM image to your hard disk. Hard disks are so big these days that doing so takes up very little room and has some advantages I'll talk about in a second.
To find out if the CD-ROM image is on your machine, search for a folder named I386. There may be several but the one we care about will contain close to 7,000 files, two of which will be winnt.exe and winnt32.exe. The I386 directory is typically one of the top-level directories on the distribution CD-ROM but most importantly it is the directory that contains the distributed copy of Windows XP. Winnt.exe and winnt32.exe are the DOS and protected mode setup programs, respectively. (You'd only need those if you were planning to re-install Windows XP from scratch - I use them here as an easy way to indentify that we have the right directory.)
So now that you know you have the CD-ROM image, what if some later installation asks for the CD-ROM?
Not to worry, it's actually pretty simple. Typically the "Insert CD" message has only an OK and Cancel button. Press OK, allowing it to fail. The next dialog will typically ask you to provide the location of the CD-ROM; just type in the full path of the I386 directory you discovered above.
That's it. But it gets better.
Windows remembers. Now that you've told Windows where your installation CD image is it'll remember that. The next time you're in a situation that might require your installation CD Windows will look there first; if it finds what it needs then it won't bother to ask you for it.
All this information was found on http://ask-Leo.com/i_dont_have_an_installation_cd_for_windows_xp_what_if_i_need_one.HTML and is not my work. I take no credit for it.
From my own personal experience you could always borrow a friends install disk or go down to a custom computer shop as they usually have spare disks lying around (this is how i got my disk when i lost it). Also im pretty sure that if you called Microsoft and requested a replacement CD they would mail it (maybe with a small fee) but seeing as yourusing your old key it would be fairly cheap. Hope that helped.
dummy file (′dəm·ē ′fīl) (computer science) A nonexistent file which is treated by a computer program as if it were receiving its output data, when in fact the data are being ignored; used to suppress the creation of files that are needed only occasionally.

Lecture: (the answer you are looking for is below)
Freon is no longer freon it is now known as refrigerant, the original Freon hasn't been in use for decades. Freon was a brand name.
Refrigerant cycle:So we have a pure gas, at room temperature and pressure a gas.If we compress the gas we get a hot gas that occupies less space.
We then cool the hot gas and this turns the gas into a liquid. We use a "condenser" (special high pressure radiator on a car or air conditioner) to do this.
Then the cool high pressure liquid goes to one of two types of "expansion" devices:
These two devices both spray the cool liquid into a evaporator ( a special radiator again) that is maintained at low pressure, this causes the liquid to boil and vaporise. Making the evaporator very cold.
The refrigerant gets warmed by what ever we are trying to cool (EG: the air inside of your car)
Once the gas is warm it travels back to the compressor to start over again
Other uses:Basically this heat pump technology is used on refrigerators, AC systems of all sizes, heat and cool heat pump systems, Highway truck refrigerated trailers, The space shuttle and so many more.
