"Better" can entail many things. Windows XP is superior to Windows 2000 in a few areas, equivalent in most, and inferior in a couple inconsequential ways.

1. Integrated zip support. Windows 2000 requires third-party programs to open and read zip files.

If it is a BIOS password, there is usually a button inside the computer you can press if not that you can remove the CMOS battery and that clears it back to default.

If it is a login password, you can use a password reset disk to change your password again at login or you can have a administrator login and change it for you.
