What are the main materials in a cell phone?

Depends how strict the definition of a resource is. Every finite object (e.g. pencils, paper, computers) is possibly a resource, but the ones that people concern themselves with most often, for example, are: money, manpower, energy (in the form of electric), and natural resources like oil, coal, wood and other chemicals.

We have to think about each component in a phone. There is the casing (uses plastic which comes from crude oil and is shaped using heat produced from coal, oil or nuclear as the primary material).

Then there is the microchip. This is silicon, metal and more plastic. Energy and heat used as well.

The screen is the most complex item. Being made up of chemicals such as liquid crystal, and plastic, this takes energy again to make.

Can prepaid phones be tapped?

tapped, yes....Traced, yes depending on the phone.

Cellular Taps are actually easier to conduct as its all digital data going through a computer system as opposed to the sound signal system of wired phones.

Traced... this is where it gets tricky. A cell tower cant pinpoint a phone accessing it to the meter. but it does give a relatively accurate location based on factors of signal strength, ping times (distance from tower), and which pallet is being accessed (direction from tower). Usually within a 100 yard area... More modern phones and indeed EVERY smartphone I know of has more advanced systems for tracking such as 3G "Relaytimes" which is very accurate and usually within 50 yards. and GPS which depending on the transmitter in the phone can be accurate to feet in distance.

As far as how you pay... if you use cash it would require some doing to trace a specific phone to being your phone. The ability to trace the phone or tap it doesn't require your method of payment.. that's just what would be needed to link the phone to its user. But believe me.. The only reasons I can think someone would ask this...

1: Don't kidnap people. They will still catch you.

2: Don't cheat on your significant other. They too will still catch you.

3: Don't prank call, the prepaid company will get complaints and kill your number at your cost and you will lose all your paid for minutes.

How much does cell phone fees cost?

It all just depends what the company charges.

Before you buy a phone i would look into all the possible companys first. IF you can't find a company that suites you or wants way to much, you can also go to pre-paid which lets you add how much you want to add to your "account" and you can buy a card from them at walmart,k-mart, radio shack, etc. (:

Why FM is more noise immune than AM?

F.M has low noise in received signal than A.M, the reason is being that Noise signal is amplitude mdulated and will be received by the A.M. receiver and will be rejected by Frequency modulation (F.M) receiver. Because F.M is designed to receive frequency modulated signals.

In the course of communication through electromagnetic waves (em) the message waves are usually not able to traverse long distances due to their large wavelength and hence less energy. So for long distance communication, the message wave is superposed on some other high frequency carrier wave which is known as modulation. That can be done in three ways

  1. by changing the amplitude of carrier wave(am)
  2. by changing the frequency of carrier wave(FM)
  3. by altering the phase of carrier wave(pm)

so as the amplitude and energy of am wave can change due to atmospheric disturbances am is distorted but no disturbances can alter the frequency and hence FM is clearer

----------

Also, Radio waves are a form of light. When a radio wave is amplitude modulated, it varies the "brightness" of the signal. and a "brighter" source of radio waves, like a lightning bolt or the noise from TVs or Computer equipment is "seen" by the radio easier than the actual radio signal, blocking it out.

FM Radio is like varying the "color" of the radio wave, so if you have a brighter source, you can still see the color of the source (signal), and therefore noise and static.

FM Radio is subject to being reflected in an event called multipath, in which the primary radio signal is reflected by hills and tall buildings, and a secondary signal is received and this causes the ghosting you see on a TV screen or that swishing that you hear on FM in a big city, so FM is still susceptible to noise and static, though not as much as AM.
