Do the US and the UK have an agreement to help in each other's conflicts?
Both countries are of course members of NATO, so the issue is whether there is an additional agreement. There's something that some British politicians like to call the 'special relationship [with the US]'. However, it's something less than what is implied in the question and there is NO general, open-ended agreement. There have been conflicts where there has no help - for example, Britain didn't help America in Vietnam. Moreover, the Iraq War finds little favour in Britain. There's a widespread feeling that the public has NOT been given one sensible reason for fighting. Some say this war has wrecked the 'special relationship'. Joncey

If you send an English text message to a Korean mobile phone what language will be displayed?
*edit* 9/14/07
When I send messages to my friend in Korea, he gets them exactly as I type them (i.e in English) Just as here in the U.S., most cell phones have English/Spanish menus, most cell phones there have Korean/English menus, so it shouldn't be too hard to send and receive messages from anyone there...well, provided they know English :P

I got my first phone when I was 10, but some parents may be different. I think you should get it at a mature age, so you don't use it inappropriately . (:

How are cell phones related to technology?
Cell Phones are probably the most technologically sophisticated things we use in everyday life (the other major candidate being Computers and the Internet). Cell Phones depend heavily on at least the following major areas of Technology: * Computers (used to control every aspect of the network, including routing calls, billing, spectrum allocation, etc.) * Radio (including modulators, high and low power transmitters, highly sensitive low power receivers, digital demodulators, and issues of spectrum allocation and propagation.) * Electronic Speech Processing (speech encoders and decoders that compress the data rate required to handle speech and increase network capacity.) * Wireless Technology (GSM Technology to bring the Internet to cell phones, and Bluetooth to link phones to headsets.) * Digital Cameras and LCD Displays (highly sophisticated in their own right.) * Fiber Optics (often used for trunking data to cell phone base stations.) * Circuit Miniaturization (Integrated Circuits, surface mount technology, and other developments in this area make modern small cell phones possible.) * Batteries (sophisticated miniature, high capacity batteries make modern small cell phones with long talk times and ranges possible.) * And last, but not least, the entire preexisting terrestrial telephone network!
