if a zombie out break were to ever happen i believe that society will be plunged into a state of disbelief and denial causing more people to die than people to live. for the people thatt do live it would be nearly impossible to survive. first you would need food and in order to get food you would have to leave your refuge whatever it might be. also zombies home in on on the smell of regular human flesh and once they track you down they will build up around your sanctury in numbers of hundreds thousands even. even if this dosent happen right away you would need to gather food. consider the possibility of being eaten. if you dont you run out of food and now there is a zombie build up. before that fight to the death!

Actually, zombies are fairly weak, both mentally and physically. (no offense to all of the mindless flesh-eaters known as zombies) The only thing that is on their mind is....food. So they wouldn't have the knowledge to turn the handle, nor are they strong enough to bust through the door, due to the zombie virus's effect on the muscular system.
