In a sense, archaeologists are the rubbish collectors of the past, and the discards of history are the evidence-what people threw away, forgot about, or were unable to retrieve. Through excavation, analysis, study, and writing, archaeology brings the past to life.

Hold up the artifact and ask the audience, "Have you ever held a piece of history in your hands? Well, I have right here!"

A magnet is a piece of iron or other material that attracts other iron-containing objects. The characteristic that exists in magnets that does not exist in materials that lack magnetism is the alignment of domains.

An osteoarchaeologist is a specialist who studies human skeletal remains found in archaeological contexts. They analyze bones to understand things like the age, sex, health, diet, and lifestyle of past populations, shedding light on the practices and conditions of ancient societies.

By providing a grid each area excavated is then numbered (1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, etc) It is possible then to map out location of items when removed for examination and to provide relative locations as a comparison to other certificates etc. In addition it allows archaeologists on site to work methodically in specific areas by giving them a grid reference

Jean-Francois Champollion was able to read hieroglyphs with the help of the Rosetta Stone. The Rosetta Stone was written in both ancient Greek and hieroglyphs which allowed Champollion to understand the Egyptian language.
