What does this quote mean One does not talk architecture while the house is on fire and the tenant are still inside?

When the house is on fire, the primary focus of everybody's attention is getting the people safely out of the building and the fire put out. It would be foolish and dangerous to talk about rebuilding the house (which is where the architect would come in) until the people are safe and the embers cooled.

More generally, it's saying "Pay attention to the immediate problem before you worry about the long-range problems."

How many jobs are there for architects in Michigan?

This questions doesn't really have an exact answer... I mean I can't tell you there are 37 job openings right now. it fluctuates too much. I can tell you though there are not many jobs at all right now. As we all know the economy is suffering horribly bringing architecture down with it, it is said that architects hold about a 40% unemployment rate right now. you might find that hard to believe but it is very true. Michigan has one of the worst if not worst economies so I am going to say finding a job as an architect in Michigan right now is going to be extremely difficult! Especially if you are entry level with not a lot of experience. If it is your dream though wait out the recession or look all over the U.S., maybe even outside of the U.S.

Best of luck!!

How do you convert a standard measurement of 1 to 11.45 to an architectural scale of 8?

The question is not too vague.

"1 to 11.45" is a ratio, which needs no units.

Here's how you get the conversion factor:

(.125"/12") = (1/11.45) * x [dividend & divisor have to agree in units, hence 12" instead of 1']
x = (0.01041666667) / (0.08733624454)
x = 0.11927083337 or 11.927083337% of 1:11.45

Question is too vague

No one has tackled this question in ages because it's too vague, so perhaps I can jar something loose with this.

The standard architectural scale in America is 0.125" = 1 foot. In other words, an eighth of an inch on the drawing is equal to one foot actual size.

But if we don't know what the units are for your so-called "11.45" scale, then we can't answer the question because we can't do the conversion.

Component of the processor that directs and coordinates most of the operations in the computer?

clock.

normally made of a material with a crystalline structure such as quartz.

Nope, the clock only provides timing. Also there have been several computers designed that have no clock at all; these are called "asynchronous computers" in these computers each unit has additional circuitry that determines when it has completed its function and generates a done pulse which is sent to the next unit to tell it to start.

It is the Instruction Decoder and Sequencer part of the Control unit that directs and coordinates all the operations in a computer. (synchronous or asynchronous)

What is scope of model?

hello i discovered answer:

Assessing the scope of a model, that is, determining what situations the model is applicable to, can be less straightforward. If the model was constructed based on a set of data, one must determine for which systems or situations the known data is a "typical" set of data.

What are the castles at Saint Augustine made of?

Most of the buildings in St Augustine (there aren't really any castles - forts, churches, etc) are made of coquina stone.

Do you need a bathroom fan in a powder room without a shower?

Yes, humidity created by the shower can cause mold. they dont call it a fart fan for nothing. You mention a shower but say nothing about a toilet. I assume the "powder room" has a toilet. In most cases, a toilet exhaust fan is required by building code unless there is an operable window in the space. Check with your local building code officials but, in the mean time, assume it will be required.
