Why do so many people live in the eastern section of Asia?
People move out from Asia because of the crowded space, bad economy, health care etc. There are reasons that can be catagorized as push or pull factors. Push factors are things that are pushing you to move out of the country, Pull factors are the opposite as they are factors that are encouraging you to stay. As I said before there are many reasons why anyone would move out of Asia, the climate isn't at all diserable, the government in some countries is terribly and totally comunist, the ecnomy is crappy and they cant afford anything, education is very good, and the healthcare isn't too great either.. those are most of the reasons I can think of hope that helped :)

Can you drive from US to Asia?
It is possible only in theory. Driving from mainland USA to the Bering Strait would be full of difficulty, but this would be the most feasible part of your journey. If you then chartered a ferry across the Bering Strait (which looks small on a globe but is still a very nice wide stretch of ocean regardless) you will already have run into insurmountable obstacles. Siberia, which lies on the opposite end of the Strait, has almost no roads in this remote area. Even if you had an off-road vehicle it would be almost impossible to navigate through the wilderness of eastern Russia down to the Chinese border, where they would refuse to let you pass, probably for a number of reasons. They do not recognize the IDP (International Driver's Permit), and in addition to this they are a Stalinist state. Airlines are definitely the best option for visiting Asia, although the idea that it is at least (in theory) possible to drive to Asia has always fascinated me as well. It's really just one long stretch of coast all the way from Los Angeles up and around to China...
