How does the use of texture help in the drawing of the figure?

I don't think it does. As a tradition, line and tone are the elements used to explore structure, tension and composition in life drawing. Texture has its place in painting and more highly rendered drawings, but not in life drawing. Some may make the argument that a texture like cross-hatching may help convey volume, but I find this view inelegant, if not outright clumsy. (This is purely my opinion, not an academic principle.)

What is polyester yarn?

Polyester is a synthetic fibre often used for clothing. Brand names include terylene and dacron. There are many yarns made from it.

What scale is used in architecture and construction drawings?

Common and frequently used scales include 1:5, 1:10, 1:20, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200, 1:500 and 1:1000. What scale is used purely depends on the situation, and what would be best suited, considering factors such as space and size.

What is the artists practice?

An artist's practice refers to both the conceptual and making processes of an artwork. It examines how the artist develops ideas, concepts and themes through the influence of their global and personal world and other artists and their movements. Artist's refine ideas and develop a recognisable style through the treatment of media to ensure that their ideas are presented successfully. Although artists aim to experiment and challenge their audiences, the way in which concepts are conveyed must be reflective of the society and world of that time in order for all people to be able to relate to the artwork. This comes with the experiment of different media, styles and techniques and also the use of the visual qualities and relationships.

What are some tips on drawing technique when using colored pencils?

Colored pencils are my personal favorite medium for coloring, but the number one technique you need is care. You must remember that most colored pencils are not as fine as normal lead pencils - they are fragile, make thicker, fainter lines, and pieces of the tip may flake off or break quite easily. Good ones can be pretty expensive.

If you are using the pencils for line art, resist the urge to do everything in black. I used to do it as a little kid and I know this will whittle your black pencil down to nothing, and you may need it later. Use the colors of the objects you're drawing, a bit firmer than normal. I prefer to do lineart in regular lead pencil, then ink over it with a black gel pen before coloring.

When coloring in line art, colored pencils are excellent for shading. Fill in the main blocks of color first and foremost; you may need to go over them in several layers because colored pencils almost always leave some white spots at first. Shading requires firmer pressing around parts of the image where shadows will appear, but be careful the points aren't too sharp or they will snap off.

In general, you don't need to worry much about keeping colored pencils very sharp unless you're coloring very small details.

Do this good site have any art ideas?

Yes!

I bet you've tried all the normal things like portraits and landscapes! Well, you could always try doing things like that in negative colour! Or your own favourite colours (try doing a favourite object in favourite colours)

You could do something that reflects yourself as a person, not only your likes and dislikes but also how you feel about things like the environment etc.

You could always set a mood when doing this. For example dark and moody, or happy!

TIP: To make people think, put a contrast in your art (like drawing a lightbulb with cold colours and a fridge with hot!)

If this isn't really your kind of thing thing then you could try out drawing unexpected things like:

A girl looking in the mirror and not seeing her reflection (or something along those lines)

A celebrity or a well known figure represented in a different way

You could also draw things from a different perspective, making people really think about what this item means to you:

You could draw a sketchbook from slightly below, making it look mighty, showing that art is what you enjoy the most!

You could represent something (or someone) you pity and draw it from above, looking down on it.

You could always draw something from a different persons perspective. An example is a child in bed. There, you can see the world from a different angle, (maybe a teddy bear is in sight) You might also get a strange lighting as if the lights are off, but it's still day outside.

Recently, I too was stuck for ideas so i started doodling. Before long, I had a million ideas! One of them was a paint pallette in the shape of a heart. Simple yet effective!

AND if your really interested in art, look up well known artists and try out tecniques and ideas that they used!

Try using different media: pencil; Biro; paint; pastles

Remember- not every peice you do has to be exelent! Just try your best!

These are just a few ideas- have fun!

What is an oblique shape?

If we're talking in purely geometric terms:

If the edges of a prism/cylinder make a right angle with the base, it is called a right prism/cylinder. If not, it is an oblique prism/cylinder...it will look as if it were slanting to one side instead of standing straight.

Similarly, if the top vertex of a pyramid/cone is directly above the center of the base, it is a right pyramid/cone. Otherwise, it is an oblique pyramid/cone. Again, it will look a bit askew.

How long is the lifespan of pencil mark on paper?

The answer depends on a variety of variables, but the simplest is that barring further action on the pencil mark (rubbing, wear, etc), it will last as long as the paper.

How do you draw a hexgon?

Compasses.

Use a pair of compasses, and draw a circle with a radius of the length you wish the hexagon sides to be.

Place the point of the compass at any point on the circumference on the circle and - without changing the distance between the pencil and the point, mark the two places where range of the pencil crosses the circumference. go to the marks you made and make two new marks on the circumference where the range of the pencil crosses it. From one of these marks make a sixth mark.

Now, join each mark to its neighbours by a straight line.

Protractor.

Draw a straight line and make two marks on it, as far apart as you wish the sides of the hexagon to be. At each point, centre the protractor and mark where 60º is from the mark on the line. Join the two marks and measure out the length of the side of the hexagon.

Repeat the angle-measuring from the two new points, to get the last two angles of the hexagon. Join each mark to its neighbours by a straight line.

Why is clay better at making something than drawing?

It isn't really. Some people seem to be bad drawers and good sculpterers, and vice versa. Anyway, drawing and molding are so different that it may seem that one is easier and better looking than the other. If you have talent in one area, by all means develop it. Also trying different clay types may help even more. Good luck, and have fun!
