People don't have SSN#'s unless they have at one point been a citizen of the USA. people with legal green cards and who are working can get a ssn--you can not work in the US without one I do not think

Deportation occurs when a person has violated the laws of any country. Not every violation leads to deportation. When a person has overstayed on a visa and not adhered to immigration laws, then he/she can be deported. While in the US. if one is traveling to the US. primarily for tourism but they want to take a short course of study that is recreational and not for credit towards a degree, and the course is less than 18 hours per week, then this is allowed on a B2 visa. But when you are in the US on a tourist visa you can not work.

A US citizen would have to apply for a visa and become resident. Alternatively they could marry a UK citizen. In addition a British Company could invite the US citizen to work in the UK and apply for a work visa on their behalf. There are quite a few ways to do it legally.
