  • Ignores you

ANSWER:

I will use my own personal experience. I have done everything I wife can do and more but when the marriage is finally over, everything we do are more different than normal. My ex hardly talk to me, even when we started our life together. His always busy and don't make time anymore especially to me, even though he promised me that after the navy, it will be my turn. Always staying inside his office till early morning. He kept himself busy all the time even on a weekend. I could tell you much more but I think the only way you will know is ask your spouse.

What is proper mourning time for a widow?

  • The proper (grieving) or mourning time for widow is up to that individual. It can take several months or a few years depending on how close she was to her husband. One cannot rush the grieving process, but, after a year the widow should start getting out with friends and back into the dating circuit if they so choose. If a young woman is mourning her husband, but lonely then 6 - 8 months is generally considered (if anything) etiquette to mourn the one you love. The days of walking around somber in black clothing has long past, but respect for the deceased husband should always be there. Life does go on after our loved ones pass on.

Can Quaker priests be married?

A distinctive feature of the Quaker religion is that there no priests. They believe there is god in everyone, regardless of sex, race, creed etc, that everyone is equal before god and their religious meetings are run accordingly, meaning members are simply called upon to say something, read some scripture or whatever - no 'running the show' like a priest would.

So in any event, the question doesn't apply.

Alternative AnswerI have heard it said that within Britain Yearly Meeting of The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) that the laity has been abolished and all are priests.

As for marriage of a 'priest', certainly in the context of all Quakers being 'priests' marriage is a possibility for them. If a Quaker community was convinced of there being a lifelong commitment of at least one Quaker with another person (who may or may not be a Quaker) I presume a marriage would be supported and witnessed in a Meeting for Worship held with due notice for that purpose.

In some Quaker Traditions I understand some people are appointed as Pastors or Leaders of a local faith group although not, I believe formally know as priests, so they too would normally be able to marry.

What should you do if your husband is emotionally distant after stopping his affair?

  • People cheat for reasons of their own and it indicates they are not happy in their marriage, but it is no excuse for cheating. You have to start communicating with your husband in a calm manner and ask him why he is emotionally distant from you. Perhaps suggest marriage counseling to him or if he even wants to continue on in the marriage. It is a risk you will have to take, but give him two choices; either go with you to marriage counseling or try to sit down calmly together and go through your marriage problems and try to rectify them. There are four different times in a marriage that are at high risk for one or both partners to cheat: #1 When young people get married and they realize marriage isn't always a bed of roses and may get bored or question if they love their partner and may cheat. #2 Men in their 40's and up can go through Andropause (much like women's menopause, but not as intense) where they go through mood changes; feel they are missing out on life and want to reach back to be young again and see if they can still attract the opposite sex so they may cheat. #3 When a couple has raised their children and they leave home it is called 'empty nest syndrome' and suddenly the husband and wife are staring at each other like strangers and don't know what to do with each other because they usually did not take time out for themselves while raising children. #4 When a couple gets older they can often know each other so well and perhaps feel bored or trapped in a marriage or, one partner can be very ill and the other spouse cannot handle the energy it takes to look after them and they may cheat. As one ages they have to face their own mortality and realize what they want in life (or at least they may think they need something else) but often times 'the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence.'

How to stop a disagreement with your husband and how can I forgive my husband?

  • When you disagree with your husband and he argues back then anything you say after that is feeding the fire. The best thing to do is one or both of you go into separate rooms or go for a walk to cool off and at a later date get back together again and calmly approach the subject you both were talking about. No yelling or blaming each other. Married couples have many disagreements in their marriage and anger or frustration can make a person say things they don't mean and that is why it is much easier to just walk out of the room and not feed that fire. By communicating properly you can 'agree to disagree' or come to an amicable solution to the problem. Arguing simply uses up too much energy; leaves both parties frustrated and angry and both of you should be mature enough to know that it is better to end an evening on a calm note because you never know if you will see that person again. No one wants bitter words between them if a person should pass away and it has and can happen to people. To forgive is divine and it takes maturity to do so and the person that forgives becomes stronger than the person that does not.

#Answer 2:

To stop a disagreement - What you think is right, others might think it is wrong; what others feel is right, you might feel it is wrong. In the end there is no right, no wrong - just the difference in the degree of evolution of the mind.

To forgive is not the same as to forget. It is deeply rooted in the greatest virtue of mankind - LOVE. This LOVE in mankind lose its beauty mainly due to 'fear'; fear cause no self confidence; no self confidence mean no love of self - unable to love others. Unable to forgive mean unable to love. To forgive mean you and the husband is the same, you is you husband - your husband is you; they both have the inert quality of mankind. You are unable to forgive because your ego feel that your husband is inferior due to the low quality of your evolution of the mind.

Advantages of marrying young?

There aren't very many advantages to marrying very young. If you're thinking about this, try to think about the negatives that come with marriage. Some advantages are that you can feel desperately and hopelessly in love, and because you're young, you might think like you're going to be together forever. However, younger people are actually thought to argue more, because you're still very stubborn.

How long should a spouse wait for the other spouse when they say they need space?

"I need space" is just a euphemism for "I want to fool around with other people. It would be best if YOU decide to move on, don't wait for your spouse to announce that he/she wants to come back then gives you some kind of disease. Once the "I need space" line has been crossed, a marriage seldom works out... unless you're both going to a marriage counselor TOGETHER!

Can your marriage work if in your 18 year marriage you just found out that your husband has been in a 4 year affair and has a child with her?

It depends. Do you still love him. If you do, forgive him and move on. But make sure he stays away from that other woman. Good Luck.

What do I do my boyfriend won't commit after 6 years of dating says it takes too much effort He says he loves me and will live with me forever but won't marry mewhat is this?

This is committment phobia and having the milk without milking the cow. If after 6 years he wont committ and how dare he say it takes too much effort. Trying to loose 200 pounds takes alot of effort, being yourself and loving someone doesnt take much at all. Sounds like your relationship is onesided, that its his way or no way. This is up to you, 6 years is a long time to throw away but its also 6 years of wasted time because he wasnt thinking of the futures long haul. Its up to you if you want to remain in this relationship, he will keep going with the status quo and that's good for him but is that what you want? You have the right to be happy and have the things you want and need out of a relationship and a "man". Sit down and let him know that a stronger committment needs to be made on his part or you will consider moving on. See if he will start slow and become engaged and then within a years time marry. If not you have your answer........

In the state of pa can a man and woman be married by god only?

Lucky for folks all over the world..... unless there is proof God sometimes is the only one that can verify a marriage. And my God sees everything, including ALL events that led up to the "presumed" ceremony ,abuse, and fear that the "Bride/Prisoner" to be felt. God knows that she spent hours croutched down in a small bathroom on a cold floor, pregant 2 days before the "presumed" ceremony. God knows the fear her son felt as he watched his strong, happy, mother deteriorate into a weak, fearful, sad, mommy that no longer played with him the way I used to. By the grace of God, I pray that he continues to see all, and will show "all" people in this scenario the light ,,,,, the true light.
