Are married couples supposed to be in love after 28 years of marriage?
- There are different types of love. When you meet each other and are first married you can't seem to get enough of each other and are deeply in love. Part of it is sexual and part emotional. When reality sets in and we get a little older and work hard; save for a house; start a family the partners can often get lost from each other from their hectic schedules, but the love in many cases is still there, but not the magical love as they were as young lovers. When the children grow up and leave home then the hectic schedules generally slow down and that is when the couple are now facing each other and realize they have to change their lifestyle and do more things together. Some couples manage to do so, but some couples find each other boring and there could be affairs or, divorces. There are good marriages out there that have lasted 28 years to 60 years or more and the love felt for each other is still magical to a point, but is more peaceful and reassuring. The couple are best friends because they have gone through so much together; they socialize a lot; they may go on short or long holidays and have a good time, but sometimes because of illness their sexual relationship may suffer, but in many cases this is a test of true love. During a humans life span they go through all sorts of hormonal and emotional changes and there comes a point as they grow older when they start to wonder if there isn't more to life then being with the same partner, but most couples ignore this and stick it out. If one is wise they will ask themselves this question, 'What if my wife/husband were killed in a car accident; how would I react?' You wouldn't feel the full blow of the death of your mate, but would have some idea. Sometimes it takes a trauma for one or both of the couples to realize just how much they really do need and love each other.

This all depend on what was said, what was done, and when he stop his relationship with his mistress. There are some men that will not feel bad to hurt the mistress feelings because they found another new girl. If are not ready you have to be straight forward and honest with her and explain to her that you don't appreciate her being the way she is. There has to be compromise in your relationship and if she is not willing and does not like what you have to say or want to wait you may not have the relationship you thought and may have to decide what is best for you and possibly move on - you may not be compatible especially if you want different things.

I think it's possible to retain feelings for someone because you're thinking of the good qualities your ex has. It's also easier to dwell on what the potential relationship might have been had there not been problems. Sharing children together also strengthens the bond between you--he/she may be a good parent but not a good partner to you. What were the problems that led to you emotionally divorcing him? If you two have not been honest with each other about what issues there were, history would repeat itself if you two got back together. Counseling might be a good idea if both of you agree that you want to make your relationship work.

It does not mean your anniversary progressively gets a day later per year) OR for "as long as the love shall last". Both Rituals may be disolved at the end of the term. A Correction to the above A Pagan handfasting is a ceremony which is personal to the two people getting married. As opposed to what is suggested, there are no "rules" regarding who performs it, or the length of time for which the vows are made. The celebrant may be a "High Priest / Priestess", or it may be a friend, or family member of those getting handfasted, or the couple may choose to act as their own celebrants. The comment about being empowered by the state is relevant only to the USA. In many other countries a Pagan handfasting can not be a legal marriage (a source of much annoyance to Pagans who have to go through two ceremonies!). The length may be "for a year and a day", it may be "for as long as love will last", it may be "for this life", it may be for whatever length of time the couple decide is appropriate.

I also have to agree with you (below). I have dated four different Hispanic men and each one seemed to be controlling. I love them because they are so passionate and they work so hard but hate the controlling part. This is not an insult to anyone by any means. It is just a fact. Not all are this way, but a majority are. I asked a coworker of mine who is an older Hispanic lady. She told me that most of it has to do with the way they were raised and their family life. Also from experience and looking into this question I have discovered that much has to do with the crossover of cultures. My current boyfriend is from Ecuador. We have an extremely rocky relationship. He constantly thinks I am seeing other men, lying to him, hiding things, flirting too much, etc. I have caught him checking my phone. He even admitted to sitting outside my apartment late one night watching me. He goes as far as to tell me what underwear I should wear. When I tan or if I dye my hair he questions why and who I am trying to impress. When I confront him about this he gets defensive and tells me I am arguing too much. I am completely honest with him and would never do those things he accuses me of and it frustrates me beyond belief because I am very faithful. He moved to America 8 years ago and I think there still is a lot he is adjusting too and there may be a sense of intimidation, language barrier and culture change. Because of this he feels insecure. He is also quite a bit shorter than me which may add to it. He feels he has to show his power in other ways. Like I said above, he is not the first Hispanic I have dated who has acted in this manner.
