Can you open Starbucks in Pakistan?
Yes, but it will not work because their tea is quite bland from Pakistani stand point. They only serve muffins, cookies or breads. Pakistanis don't always like to eat that stuff. Clientele would be zero compared to where the vast variety of condiments and sweets are available. Self service eatouts can never gain popularity except something like hotspot..but even then how many do?... Pkistanis or Indians don't drink much coffee which pretty much sums it all.

on average about 9.60 and hour... yet their 5 CEO's made over 220 million last year, meaning if they would have only paid their CEO's $300,000 then they could have given their 200,000 American employees a 5 dollar and hour raise last year equaling 14.60 an hour.... pretty shiesty huh?
I didn't know Walmart paid people to shop in its stores.
Answer:
I work for Wal-Mart. The starting pay various from one store to another. Walmart has management in the stores every so often compare what other similar companies are starting employees out as, and submit it in, then use that as what their starting pay is. Also, walmart a few years ago went to a payscale. Depending on what your job is in the store you may start out more than the starting base pay. Sadly, though at walmart just because you are classified in one job code, definitely doesnt mean you wont be asked to help out in other areas of the store.
I love the 2nd answer where the person pointed out that most store don't pay their customers to shop with them, LOL. Unless your a "secre shopper."
I'm sure the reason given that a paycut was given to a CEO would be what the last person stated if coming from the CEO or walmarts PR dept., but I think most people realize that if walmart cared then a lot of things would be done differently. I'm not saying by far they are the worst company out there, but there is a lot of areas they need to improve treating workers better, but remains ignored over the years, despite knowing about it, especially a lot in the media now a days.

I agree with the last answer, as another walmart employee I also enjoy the first answer since the One of the 5 CEOs took a huge voluntary pay cut so that walmart didn't have to lay off employees.
By my calculation, assuming those are 200,000 full time employees, the pay increase would only be 55 cents. from $5.15-$8/hour to $5.70-8.55/hour.
That's assuming the average worker there puts in about 2000 hours/year. 218.5 million dollars / (2000 hours * 200,000 people) =~0.55 dollars

All the calculations are off due to the assumption Walmart employs 200,000 people in the US. According to Walmart, in March 2010 Walmart employed 2.1 million people worldwide, 1.4 million of them in the United States. So...take every number you came up with and divide by seven.
Walmart pays a wage that's competitive with the local market. If your local market's other broad-line retailers (such as Target or Kmart) are paying $12 per hour, Walmart will also pay $12 per hour. If the local market pays minimum wage, so does Walmart.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a Walmart associate in Washington State (highest minimum wage state in the US; $9.32 per hour as of Jan 1 2014), my starting pay is $9.75 an hour, which isnt too bad, I've only worked there for 99 days so far, so I can only expect to have higher pay over time.

The sirens were half fish, half woman creatures whose beauty and haunting singing were said to lure sailors to their doom.
