-I fancy Georgina Miners.
What is the effect of animal rights?
well, humans pollute the water and air, and plus they kill animals for their meat, so i guess humans don't affect animals very well.
Animals typically have a central nervous system, much like humans.
The pain that they experience is unique to each animal, however some animals can feel pain in a way that is more extreme than the human experience, and others might experience the same amount of trauma in a different, more subtle way.
-If an elephant is hit on it's rear with a human hand, it will feel pain in a lesser way as compared to if a child is hit on it's rear, or a kitten is hit on it's rear.
However, some animals lack a central nervous system, such as oysters and sponges. If there is no central nervous system, there is most likely no capacity for pain. Animals with no nervous system whatsoever can't even feel anything.
It depends on what you mean by the term "hurt".
Yes, animals have emotions and can get hurt physically and emotionally.
For example, if you hit an animal, like a dog or cat with an object they react to the action cause it may hurt of does hurt. in addition the animal you are hitting may become angry or may fear you (which shows a sign of emotion).
How do they test makeup which is not tested on animals?
They test make-up by putting the make-up on a dead person.
Cosmetic companies have things that are smeared or sprayed onto the skin when they come up with something new the want to be sure that it does not cause any irritation or other harm to humans. So they test the product in massive amounts on animals to see how much is required to cause harm. The people that do this work have absolutely no conscience and belong to the ilk that worked on human experiments in Germany prior to and during the war and the Japanese in china at around the same time.

How are rabbits killed to make a fur coat?
Rabbits raised for their fur lead miserable lives in cramped and overcrowded conditions, often suffer from injuries inflicted by their cage-mates, and many die early deaths from their injuries. Rabbits raised for fur is a fiercely debated topic between fur advocates and animal rights groups such as the Animal Liberation Front.
Do a video search for farms and you can see first hand the conditions that these condemned animals live in.

What are the concequences for animal cruelty?
***Most cases are based on a conviction with a fine and/or jail time. Some are refused owning any animals again.
you would go to court to see if your case was bad enough but they aposer needs proof and the deffendant would lose ownership of the animals and a warrant would alow people to go and take the animals to an animal shelter where they would HOPEFULLY be adopted but a loving and caring person!!!!!!!!!!
Because innocent animals are being maimed and killed to satisfy a niche in the gambling market by people that probably need to be pitted against each other in the same way.
and people are just doing it to entertain and get money
What could happen to you if you abuse an animal?
If an animal is abused, it has dramatic affects on their life. At a young age, if an animal is abused, they learn nothing but fear and don't know how to trust, which is what turns into aggression. Think of dog fights, those dogs are abused as puppies and beaten, turned from loveable puppies into vicious fighting dogs who don't know right from wrong. But that's physical abuse. There is also the abuse of dehyrdation and starvation, where the animal is not fed or watered, sometimes leading to death. Also, exposure is a type of abuse, where an animal is left in the elements (rain, sun, snow) for a long period of time. If help doesn't come, these animals usually die.
Even if the animal does survive, they still end up having to go through a lot ot recover from the trauma they have endured.
Who invented the factory farm and how did it go from nice small farms to huge cruel farms?
"Factory farms" were not invented, they were merely created out of necessity to meet the growing demands of a growing population. Family farms often cannot stay in the business if the kids are not interested in keeping ties to the farm anymore, nor can they stay if costs are too high and profits too low to keep going. With cities expanding, better and easier jobs being offered in the cities and towns, and the interest in keeping the farm on the decline, more and more family farms were sold and given up, larger and more commercial farms needed to be created and took over these small farms to create more land and capital to grow on.
Confined Animal Feeding Operations became on the rise because of their higher efficiency and ability to turn out more products in a certain time period than a family farm was (and is) able to do. More eggs, more pork, chicken and beef could be sold in a shorter amount of time and on a grander scale than what several small family farms were able to do.
The consumer was also the driving force for such operations, since they were the ones responsible for wanting a certain product on the shelf, or more of that product on the shelf all the time. Family farms were so varied in the kind of pork, chicken, milk, eggs and beef produced that consumers had a hard time knowing what to pick or even where to go to find such products. CAFOs were the key to making such products more consistent and available in greater quantities all year round.
Now the terms "nice small farms" and "huge cruel farms" are, undoubtedly, argumentative. Not all small farms are nice. There are a lot of animal cruelty cases from small "nice" farms that the HSUS and the SPCA get about certain livestock that are treated cruelly or appear neglected. And these so-called "factory farms" are not all cruel either: there are a large number of farms that take as good care of their livestock as they can while at the same time meeting the production demands for selling a product. Undoubtedly this is a double-edged sword, but with careful management it all works out. The term "cruel" is really overgeneralizing things, since it assumes that, from only a few reports, all of these "factory farms" are cruel and inhumane. While this is partly true, it doesn't show what all farms do to care for their livestock.

^^good answer =). I'm actually doing it now for my public speaking class. it always helps to use a general outline (they have examples all over the internet), and using statistics is a big factor. another good thing is to use words that reach the senses of someone. make them really feel what you're saying =) hope i helped!
That's not all however. You are only scratching the surface! If you want to go in depth and earn yourself BIG POINTS go into the cosmetics testing for animals and you will find out a bunch of info on what places are using tests on animals to just make GOOD MAKEUP another things is finding out how many animals die yearly because of this about and then do the math on how many die per day and minute! Go further then there and you will amaze your class ^^ It will also help with collage and you might find yourself in a career as a type of biologist!
Im repeating what I posted in discussion it that is okay...
What you should do is find out how many animals die from abuse every second, minute, day, year ect and then go from there to find quotes and such
Also, go to the humane society or an animal shelter closet to you and take an interview. It's front information and you could earn yourself a story also!!
Then move on to the history and then to large groups that fight against animal abuse. Another one is labratories, puppy farms, kitten farms, pig farms (ect) and stuff like that....
Also look up some Myspace pages...there are not only just a bunch of school kids on there talking about stupid stuff y'know. There are also Animal Abuse organizations on Myspace!! They can help you alot!

What else is there? What else could you possibly find out just by asking this question? Well once you find out ALL of this information you will be moved at what you see and shocked. You may find yourself going into a career as a type of Biologist; avoid being a vet though...I wanted to be one until I found out that some veterinarian organizations test and torture animals that they find...
There are dozens of reasons. maybe they didn't match the decor, or the animals didn't live up to their expectations, or possibly even they only bought the animal to impress their friends or whatever. Many people have gotten rid of the animals because they smell bad, they are too loud, and many more reasons. I should know. My uncle's pet dog had to be gotten rid of because he smelled. Some people just are too shamed to return it, so they toss it or don't care for it anymore. In the end, my uncle's dog was eaten, and the dog was so fat, it's entire skin was nothing but fat. My uncle ran away from home (he was only ten at then), and returned a few days later with a puppy that his other dog had given birth to.
Because they are lazy pigs who cant be bothered to look after an animal so they give them up and abandon them. :(
What are the groundhogs predators?

How many dogs are brought into shelters every year?
about 3-4 million cats and dogs each year :( <---sad face
i live in australia and at the moment as disgusting as this is, people are killing them because we apparently have to many running wild, and destroying nature. The authoritys have decided that it is easy to just kill them, other people kill them for fun, or many many other reasons, all in all its sick when its for fun or for "nature" or any other reason unless it was "i am starving to death and the only thing near me is a horse" I dont know even then I dont really agree with it but whatever.
Until just recently there was was no place in the US where old, sick, or dying horses could legally be taken other than simply killing them and burying the carcass. This was a problem since many people had no way or place to bury such a large carcass. As a result, many horse owners felt they had no option but to simply turn them loose in the open countryside, which was obviously not a good solution.
Why are more cats euthanized than dogs?
There is a surplus population of cats and dogs. No one is willing to take care of them, so to keep them from running wild in human-populated areas (which can be a health hazard because of diseases like rabies), they are euthanized. This is considered the most painless way to end their lives. You can do your part to prevent euthanization by spaying or neutering your pets, and by adopting from shelters like the Humane Society instead of purchasing your pet from breeders.
