If it says Factory Refurbished then it was basically a brand new computer that had something minor like a blemish on the frame or a broken port to something like a bad screen or a hardware problem that Apple then fixed and reduced the price slightly but has the same full warranty that a "Brand New" one has.

If you have forgotten your password for the MacBook Pro. You can reset it by inserting your reinstall disk, most likely labeled Mac OS X Install DVD, Then restart the computer and hold down the letter C. Once on the menu screen, click the next arrow to use the language you prefer section. Then go to Utilities at the top of the screen > Reset password > select your volume "commonly Macintosh HD" > Select your user, then reset password. This is the easiest way to reset the password.
