make sure th piston is set a tdc. both valves should be closed. the cam has a mark on the gear side which should be lined up flat with surface of head. both cam lobes should be up letting valves be closed. if everything is lined up correctly the ATV is in time.

Pull the spark plug(s) and crank the engine to make sure you flush out any water from the combustion chamber. Hydrolocking an engine can blow a headgasket, or worse, snap a connecting rod.

Once you've made sure your combustion chamber is clear of water, you can replace the plugs and start your ATV as normal.

nothing happens. it's simply a matter of (typically) making idle adjustments after the engine and Carb. are up to normal operating temps. ( the exact required settings will be slightly different when cold, but will do no harm.)

oil is oil like Yamaha recomends yamalube..its bull.sheet. they just want money..i use 5w30 or 10w30 most likely 10w30 in summer..i use valvoline synthetic in cars snowmobile and ATV, its the 3rd best oil if you want use amsoil that the best oil on planet...it allows you to do 25k mile change intervals in a truck or car

The drain plug is a large one, slightly to the rear of the center of the engine. When you remove it, be careful not to lose the screen, spring, and o-ring inside of it. Clean the screen and plug in gasoline or other solvent, being careful with the o-ring (some solvents will eat rubber).

Coat the o-ring with clean oil. Refill on the right side of the motor, being careful not to overfill.
