My daughters were party plan sales consultants for Princess House a few years ago when the company went bust here. Later on while working in a gift store one of our sales agents came in with a bunch of Princess House stuff among the things he was selling (when I questioned him about it he said it was some stuff that his company had purchased along the way - he had not even heard of Princess House.) Does anyone have any information on Carlingford Girls Home New South Wales or where records for this home can be obtained?

I am looking for the same sort of information as my mother (who is now 80ys) was there from a baby until she was 16yrs old. My sister and I are interested in what information was on record then.

We have found her parents. Her father died, then the three children ended up in these Homes.

NSW state archives, could not help us.

I have read somewhere that the Church of England has records (somewhere....)

We will follow up this lead.

Maybe www.clan.org.au could also help you.

You could also try the Anglican church in Sydney who is helping a number of leavers from this home. The best contact number is 1800774945 or email reportabuse@sydneyanglican.asn.au. They have employed someone to assist all the leavers from Church of England homes
