Actually, It can't be classified as any of them.

Acid is any substance which furnishes H+ or Hydronium(H3O+) in water.

A base is a substance which furnishes OH- in water and alkali is a water soluble base.

But a beetroot won't do any of them. It would simply get swelled up due to absorption of water without affecting it.

Not only can they eat eat beets, it's recommended. Beets contain high concentration of natural source betanin ( a strong antioxidant), Vitamins B and C, folate, iron, potassium, and magnesium. Beets help support allergy control, healthy weight, energy levels, inflammation relief, antioxidant levels and immune system. Beets also pack a powerful punch for cleansing the liver. I feed my two dogs dehydrated beets with every meal. I re-hydrate them prior to feeding and it only take a couple seconds for them to return to their fresh appearance.

Beets grow well in most climates. If the weather is too hot in the summer (in Zone 8 climates), the beet roots become rather woody. But if the weather is too cold, young plants will skip developing the root and begin to seed. Their best grown if full sun, but can tolerate partial shade.

Beets that have been cleaned can usually last in the fridge for a couple of weeks. If the beets are cooked, they will last a couple of days.

The brix reading for beets, like all foods, vary according to the health of the beet plant. On a refractometer that is calibrated in % Sucrose beet roots have a range from poor, average, good, and excellent. The brix readings for these are 6,8,10, and 12 respectively.

Beetroot contains several organic acids, with the primary ones being oxalic acid, citric acid, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Oxalic acid can contribute to the characteristic earthy flavor of beets, while citric acid and ascorbic acid provide a slight tartness and are important for their nutritional value. 1. Clean the dirt from the beet root. 2.Trim the leaves leaving about an inch (this will ensure you do not cause the beet to bleed). 3.Simmer for about 20 mins then remove from the heat. Drain the water and allow to cool. While your waiting for your beetroot to cool bring to the boil enough malt vinegar to cover. A lot of people use spices in the vinegar but a prefer 2 tables spoons of sugar. Simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool a little. Slice your beetroot and put into a clean jar. pour over the beetroot. Simple....enjoy on crusty bread with matured cheddar

Sugar beets can be turned into granulated sugar

No. Guinea Pigs cannot eat beet greens. What you should give your Guinea Pig is some lettuce, or peppers. Or even carrots. We asked people and friends about their Guinea Pigs and they said those 3 veggies were the best. Guinea Pigs aren't a big fan on fruits. So mostly stick with veggies.

Otherwise, you are best to use a grain drill for the wheat and some type of individual unit row planter for the sugar beets.
