In the book The Life of Benjamin Franklin as written by himself, a passage (obviously not written by himself) reads thus about Franklin's death: "...when his pain and difficulty of breathing entirely left him, and his family were flattering themselves wit the hopes of his recovery, when an imposthumations, which had formed itself in his lungs, suddenly burst, and discharged a great quantity of matter, which he continued to throw up while he had strength to do it; but, as that failed, the organ of inspiration became gradually oppressed; a calm lethargic state succeeded, and on the 17th of April, 1790, at eleven o'clock at night, he quietly expired, closing a long and useful life of eighty-four years and three months" and so thus he didn't get killed but died of elderly age

Two useful and well known inventions of Benjamin Franklin include the Franklin stove and the lightening rod. Also, Ben Franklin invented the glass harmonica and bifocals.

Sadly, he is known more for flying a kite in the rain, than for the innumerable contributions he made to the making of the United States of America. Benjamin Franklin was a key contributor and his common sense approach towards the development of this country is under appreciated.

He actually has eight fromer wives and now lives with two separate women so no one knows who he is actually married to.

Ben Franklin's famous key did give off an electric spark. But lucky for Franklin, the kite was just drawing small electrical charges from the air. If the kite had actually been struck by lightning, Franklin would have been killed!

Franklin was involved in the revolution almost from the start. He wrote articles, helped edit the Declaration of Independence, signed the Declaration, and was involved in the constitutional convention at 81. He was very much involved as an ambassador to France for several years.

He was one of the delegates from Pennsylvania, along with Judge James Wilson and John Dickinson. He was one of the five members of the Declaration committee with John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Phillip Livingston, and Roger Sherman.
