I am not a blind person although I do have some blind friends, so I have some insight into the psychology of the blind. Blind people, much like sighted people, are not all the same, and do not all have the same criteria for dating. Some blind people would be quite happy to date someone who is ugly but friendly and who has shared interests (for example, science fiction fans often like to date or marry other science fiction fans). But appearance can still matter. A blind person may wish to have children, and if so, he or she would normally prefer that his or her children will be good looking. So the appearance of a spouse, which will be part of the genetic inheritance of the children, will still matter, even if the blind person never actually sees that appearance.

How would a blind person know what is ugly, and what isn't? I don't think they would care too much since they can't tell who is attractive, and who isn't.

Of course, the blind babysitter would need to be very familiar with his/her environment -- so in his/her own home would probably work out the best. And of course (as with any babysitter) he/she should be responsible and old enough to handle everything that could come up, and should have a phone. The child being watched should be old enough to understand that the caregiver cannot see. I have a legally blind student who babysits frequently, and she always does an excellent job!

Weed is very strange for me. The first time I got high my vision became larger and "high definition." I normally have extremely good vision so it is strange that I have better vision when high. However, there have been times when high that I have lost vision, and been temporarily blind, but this has been like when you stand up after sitting down and your vision is shakey except amplified a ton. I now have the ability to amplify my vision without smoking weed which is pretty neat but I know of no one else that has had the same experiences as myself.

First they will check your vision, if you need correction based on that test they do a refraction (the machine with all the lenses where they ask you "better 1, or better 2?". After they get your glasses rx, if needed, they will check your intraocular pressure using either a tonopen, applanation or non-menthol contact applanation (the air puff), but they will put a numbing drop in your eye so you won't feel anything. Next they dilate your eye (make your pupil big) and then check the back of your eye (retina, optic nerve, macula, blood vessels). A lot depends on age and health, but those are the basic things they look for in an regular eye exam.

Same as other sited people. Reading, writing, playing sports, (like beep baseball, which is an adapted version of baseball), swimming, listening to music, running track, playing videogames (we cann them audiogames-they're loads of fun!), using the computer with the help of a screen reader...anything a sited person can do a blind person can do.
