Where is the Battery at 1989 735i?
BENEATH THE REAR SEAT. There are remote contact points two places. 1) Under the hood near the fuse box. Remove the circular cover, about 1" diameter. You will see a POSITIVE terminal which resembles an upside down thimble.
2) On the kick panel beneath the rear seat. If you are sitting on the rear seat, the terminal is where your HEEL touches the seat frame.
How do you charge a 2002 BMW 745li Battery?
If it is the one from '02 it is time to replace it! There is a positive terminal under the hood with a plus sign on top...that's your positive terminal and put the neg terminal cable on a non painted area near the engine for grounding...then ensure the other cables are propperly placed on the source / jumper battery for jumping! Once the dead battery is jumped...remove all cables and run the vehicle without lights and radio for more than 15 mins above 1500 rpm!
What is the wheel offset of a 2000 BMW 740IL?
Wheel offset is not determined by the year, make and model of a car. It depends on the wheel you want to put on your car. Depending on the design of the wheel, the offset will vary. The stock "basketweave" wheels on the 2000 740iL is said to be about 22mm. Furthermore, you can mount wheels with different offsets by using appropriate spacers that would allow for larger offsets.

Thanks for your time!
Right when I start the engine, the voltage on all 6 injectors on drivers side (left side) are 2.5v - 2.8v and on the passengers side (right side) are all .5v - .6v. A 1988 750il v12 has two ECM (elec. control module), thinking the injectors get voltage from them, I switched them and still getting the same voltage from both sides. I put new oxygen sensors. Any suggestion exactly what sensor is bad? Also, I put 12 new injectors, will 2.5v damage them? Where can I find the "computer timer controls?"
Again, Id like to thank you for a quick answer. I appreciate your time.
Look for it!One injector or all?A computer timer controls the voltage to the injectors. Compare the time length of the pulse. Are they being opened longer than the left bank? There may be a bad sensor on the right bank causing the computer to open those injectors longer for a richer mix.

Where do you find the power steering reservoir of a 1998 BMW 740IL?
Under the hood on the drivers side of the engine you will see a black bottle that is cylender shaped. There are 2 different kinds that your car could have, one will state ATF only on top of it(i know it's confusing but it does take auto trans fluid in the power steering) the other will State CHF 11s on it. The CHF fluid is green and can be purchased from most parts stores but is highly expensive.
How do you know if your BMW E38 power steering pump is broken?
It is quite possible that the pump is OK and more than likely it is a suspension problem. Do you have an IL model? They have a self leveling suspension and the power steering pump also powers the suspension. It is a tandem pump using one oil reservoir. if the suspension is leaking then is would be hard to steer the car from fluid loss. Use only Pentosin fluid "expensive". I had a 735il and a 740il both develop steering problems. The 735il had the lines from the front to the back corrode at the body mounting points causing a massive fluid leak and the 740il had a flex hose in the rear leak. The steering is so hard you can hardly turn the wheel to park the car, it is a little easier driving along when the car is moving. You can drive the car to a service center but keep the trips to a minimum. It is not good to run the car with no oil as eventually the hydraulic power-steering pump will fail from being dry and when you fix the suspension problem you have created another and will have to replace the pump. Other causes might be the steering rack is leaking, or lines to it. Low fluid in the reservoir, broken power-steering belt, the pump really is bad (usually they make a noise) Fill up the reservoir and look for spots on the ground from oil leaking. If all the power steering parts are tight then it could be a bad steering box or front end parts like ball joints etc. I don't know how hard your car is to steer. With the 740il above it took two hands to steer the car jerking the steering wheel to get some leverage to get the car to turn. When everything is working you can steer with one finger! Hope this helps.

BMW 740il power steering hose repair?
I have a 1997 740IL that I need to replace the High Pressure hose going to the pump. I can see and feel the banjo nut going to the rack on the side of the engine but cannot get an extension on it from the top of the car. do you have to remove the wheel and wheel well/underbody?
Hello, not sure I'm answering in the right place.... I just did this yesterday on my '95. I first removed the front end of this hose from the pump (and several others that were in the way, grrrr) so that I could pull the front end up and out the top of the vehicle, and could thereby bend it out of the way (toward the rear). Now the banjo nut is accessible. If I'd had a 19mm or 3/4" short socket and small universal joint and a 12" extension, it might have worked. I ended up putting a normal box wrench on it and then pulling with all my might to break it free.
How can the performance of a BMW 745i in the snow be improved?
The only thing that one can do 'realisticly' is to put winter tires on the vehicle. Also, needless to mention to press that padel with a little less force, and one should be all set for 80% of the driving during snow. For the rest of the 20%, what are you doing outside on the first place ??
How do you replace BMW brake pads on BMW 7 series?
it is usually complicated to change parts on a BMW Mercedes Lexus and other luxury brands. the suggested solution is to take the car to an authorized BMW dealership to get your brakes replaced
---------------------
It's not any more complicated than any other brake pad replacement on other cars.
The general steps are:
Remove your tire,
Remove the anti-rattle clip,
Unbolt and remove the brake caliper (do not let them dangle on the brake fluid hose!),
Remove the pads,
Push the brake piston back into the caliper (use a special tool or a big C-clamp and the flat side of the old pad to do this),
Install the new pads with some anti-squeal compound at the required spots,
Replace the brake pad wear sensors (only on the front left and rear right pads--you will most likely break off the old ones),
Put back the caliper and the anti-rattle clip,
Test to make sure that the pads engage and release the rotors properly,
Put the tire back.
Test the brakes on your driveway before heading out! And don't forget to break in the new pads...
Check e38.org and various bimmer forums for excellent DIY details.
If any of the above sounds complicated and you've read up on the DIY info as suggested and still think so, then you shouldn't attempt this--get it done at a good independent BMW mechanic (but average shops should be able to handle this).
