Is the battery brand new? This car takes alot of power to start. If your using a battery that has gone dead before or just not fully charged the cars electronics may work without it starting. The car has a safety mechanism where it won't crank if it doesn't have enough power to start. This save the car from over cranking and damaging the starter.

Yes look in your BMW owenr's manual .Go to on board computer at the end of that info see under " further info on the on board computer "look at CODE to reset taking out batt. may have mest up code . may try remote key to reset all so. don't give up my dad would say look at the simple stuff first

Clean the fuses and fuse holders.

Unplug / replug the relays at and near the fuse box.

Swap around the identical relays at the fuse box (horn relay can usually be used).

(Make sure the relays swapped are identical!)

Might also be the trip computer/alarm. Try disconnecting the negative battery cable and re-connecting it to reset it. It can be bypassed if necessary (check the internet as to how)

== == The easiest way is to syphon all the fuel from the tank using a old second hand fuel pump. You will need minimum, 1 old 12v fuel pump, get from a scrap yard etc.

15ft fuel hose that will fit both ends of the pump.

And some crocodile clips and wiring "at least the length of car" to power up the pump.

And some empty fuel drums or oil drums etc. This applies to virtually all cars, however some are easier than others to do. On the BMW lift out the rear seats you should see access to the fuel tank, depending on the BMW their may be one or two "if it's a saddleback tank", carefully take off the cover and lift out as best as possible the in tank pump.

Stick in your pipe and power up the pump drain it into the tanks you have, until you have reached the bottom of the tank, if you have a saddleback tank do the same on the other side. Replace all covers and seats etc, now put in about £10 worth of the RIGHT fuel. If the car has not been started or driven since the wrong fuel went in then it should start up and run ok. If the car has been run you will have to remove the fuel line from the engine "try and catch fuel in a container or add some of your drain pipe" to stop possible fuel ignition on hot engines, and crank over for 10/20 seconds until the wrong fuel is flushed out of the lines, reconnect up and start engine. GOOD LUCK.

Almost directly under the ashtray if you where looking under your car, it has an o2 sensor in front and back of it on both sides

Seams that the answer to this unfortunate incident, according to the dealership is to "break a glass of choice" to access the hood release handle; which is the only thing that does not go into "deadbolt lockout" which prevents pulling any and all lock linkages. Once inside your hood, you can jump your battery from the battery positive point and negative tower screw affixed to the strut tower top cover. I was then informed that one has to install and exterior weatherproof cigarette lighter socket in a hidden area, as so that you may regain access if the incident should ever re-occur !!

I would use the key to unlock the door.

A BETTER WAY: Insert key in door. Lift handle all way up. Turn key all the way forward, past horizontal. (Resistance may be felt at horizontal, but apply reasonable torque without twisting key off.) Door should now open. If this does not work, open trunk, remove trunk light lens, run 12 volts to bulb socket, red to positive and other wire to neg. This runs power to car electrical system because trunk light circuit opens when trunk lid is raised. Don't confuse license plate light, which is also in the trunk lid, for trunk light. There is no open circuit to license light with light switch off.

You can also insert the key into the trunk key slot and manually open the trunk, even when the battery is dead. Then you can replace the battery, everything else works.

If you are running the original coils, may as well replace those too - they are notoriuos for failing. The coils are about $280 on-line and the plugs about $90. The coils mount atop the plugs.

For the plugs, you will need a a really long socket extension - like 12" or use a couple of them. Basically the three coils on the front are a snap - remove the Nissan logo cover to expose the coils then one bolt and one harness I think to remove. Pull the coils and plugs are underneath deep in the engine. Slide a socket and extension in and take them out - make sure no crap falls in the motor.

The back ones are similar but more difficult to access because of the throttle cables and other hoses. The setup is similar to the fronts but take your time - you may have to relocate a couple of things to get the middle one out if I remember correctly.

Connect jumper cables from the positive battery post, on your BMW, to the positive battery post on the charged every. Connect the ground together. Allow the battery to charge for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Mine was doing something very similar. The transmission uses plastic check ball valves (probably called something else), that wear out. I just had mine rebuilt for $900

Head gaskets are not "fixable", they need to be replaced. The difficulty level depends on how mechanically inclined you are. Go to your local library and check out a repair manual (Hayne's or Chilton's) for your vehicle. You will find detailed instructions on head gasket replacement and you can decide if you want to take it upon yourself on or not.
