I use Evans NPG. It has no boiling point so steam can't hurt the head gasket. It operates under a zero pressure system. I had to get a special cap from them. It won't affect any warranties, I checked before I changed over. It heats up quickly to temp and since, I have noticed more power and better fuel economy. I must warn you however, water is a contaminate. You can not add water to Evans!!! It is a little pricey, But it does let you know when it needs to be change by changing color. I found out about it from my nephew, He is currently in Iraq, and They use it over there in military equipment. It has been known to last over a million miles before changing. They have a website and I did my homework before I put it in my 89 735I so far 215,000+ and not problem one!! either way you decide to go, you need to completely drain and flush your system. Green and Red antifreeze will clot up if mixed together. Evans will not mix with either green, red or water. Evans is used straight. If you decide to go the way I did, After you drain and flush, you have to make sure everything on the inside is completely dry. I used a blow dryer and left it on over night. I ruined the hair dryer, so I recommend a cheap one on low heat.

Why does BMW 745LI says repeat gear selection the screen when the car stops?
This seems to be a faulty gear selector problem. This is a recall item in the 750 series begining mid-2000's. I have a 2003 745Li and purchased a new gear selector, which I am about to have installed. I would not do this install youself - I would go to a certified BMW mechanic (not the stealership), because the airbag has to be removed and an impact wrench is needed to remove the metal frame under the airbag,which allows access to the gear selector. This problem has been keeping my car's computer "alive" after I shutdown the car that results in the battery going dead all the time. You can get the part (6927887) on ebay for less than $75 USD.
