Is thalamus and receptacle the same?

How many brain cells are in a fly?
I've heard that there are approximately 100,000 cells a fly's brain.
Ok.. This question is a toughie. Though, you can't just become mature... it depends on you. For example, sometimes when someone swears at you and throws an insult or a punch and you hit back... that is probably the first step to become mature. To become mature, you need to be aware of what you do that's not mature and write those things down in order from those immature things you do alot to the immature things you don't do alot. Start from the very bottom of the list and improve on it. If it's just something simple and plain.. it would be easy... to become more mature, you need to control yourself over something that makes you do immature things. If it's inappropriate behaviour at school, if it's your mates, still be friends with them, but don't join in being immature. To become mature, you need to have self confidence and you need to believe in yourself, if you don't, then what's the use of wanting to become mature. Ok... that's it. I hope this helped, because this is what i did to become more mature... sometimes... maturity comes naturally as you grow older.... it's different for each person
What are the advantages and disadvantages of brain implantations?
The implantation of indwelling electrodes into the brain is predicated on being able to locate a limited area of the brain that is over-active and by passing a weak current quieting down the electrical activity. Because it is hard to map out exactly the right area these surgeries are carried out with the patient alert and awake. A neurologist is present and works with the patient to test the effectiveness of the placement of the electrode. Since the surgery process can be tedious I have seen both good and bad patient participation resulting in sometimes disappointing results (the surgeries were for the control of Parkonsonian tremor).
How is a thought formed in the brain?
A thought is formed when two or more brain cells (Neurons) connect
The part of the brain which has been the focus of research to identify biological factors involved in sexual orientation is in a region near the anterior hypothalamus. There is no genetic evidence for homosexuality but it is the epigenetics that make a difference. These epi-marks function by turning on and turning off certain genes.
How much of your brain do you use?
Scientists have speculated anywhere to 10-14%, although the amount will vary depending on the individual.
It should be emphasised this is merely speculation and not based on any numerical evidence. It is a guesstimate based on the observations that some people seem to think more efficiently than others.
What does ALD do to the white matter in the brain?
Myelin sheaths in the central nervous system do the same basic job as they do in the peripheral nervous system. They insulate the axons, which are the conducting parts of nerve cells, so that they can carry their signal better. When this protective mechanism is damaged, as in ALD, the nerve cells cannot communicate properly and result in the signs and symptoms of ALD. Unfortunately this genetic disorder not usually caught in its early stages to provide effective treatment.
Can the brain move down from its original position?
I do not think so.
if pressure builds up in your skull such as from bleeding or swelling it will eventually push your small brain out of your skull and into your spine however this is destructive and will kill you.
Could harm to a newborn baby's Frontal Lobe cause Paranoia?
That is most unlikely. You do not get Paranoia since childhood. Secondly such damage could have been seen in MRI of the patient. Thirdly, the type and extent of the damage should vary. But signs and symptoms of Paranoia are very similar in nature. Most probably there is biochemical abnormality in such functional disorders. So probably there is problems with neurotransmitter system in such type of patients. Probably there are changes with one or more genes. Most probably with single gene, only. That should be the cause of Paranoia.
What is the impact of electromagnetic radiation on functioning of the blood brain barrier?
While studies still need to be conducted on long-term effects of electromagnetic radiation on the functioning of the blood brain barrier, the impact is more directed towards telephony accidents and incidents.
What happen when a part of the brain does not get supply of oxygen and nutrients?
You are in danger of a stroke
What is the function of the trigeminal nerve?
The Trigeminal nerve is responsible for biting and chewing, as well as sensation in the face. It is the largest nerve connected directly to the brain.
What is the analgesia system or modulation of the brain in reference to pain?
is a system that involves nuclei asociated with endogenous opioids, and neurotransmitters like serotonin and encephalins . the cortex ---> periaquetal gray and others---> raphe magnus--> posterior areas in medulla i'n not an expert, but let's just say that this great system aminorates pain in the first stages of entrance of the painful signal (sorry 4 my "inglich" xD) melodia
What does it mean when the brain has cognitive limits?
Cognition is the process of knowing or understanding.
All brains have cognitive limits; even Einstein's. This is because brains are finite and it is not possible for anyone to understand or know everything there is to know in this universe.
Some people understand or know more than others, depending on things like intelligence, neurological status, age, or how something is explained. For instance, you can't expect a baby of 10 months to understand quantum physics. This is because of age related cognitive limits.
When is it ethical to use a brain slicing technique on a human subject?
It depends on what you mean by this. Sometimes the doctors have remove the entire half of the brain because of severe seizures. They would not do it if it wasn't ethical.
