All relationships have their problems, some more than others. He had either months or years with his ex and there were memories made from the good times. When two people don't get along they can convince themselves they actually hate their mate, but, when time passes they may begin to miss them and realize not 100% of the problems in that relationship were the fault of their mate. It sounds as if this guy was on the rebound and it happens to many people that split-up. Most people don't mean to rebound and hurt others they date on a steady basis because they really don't realize they are actually just lonely and haven't taken the time to know what they really want out of life or where they want to go in the future. Unfortunately, they drag people through their personal muck and that's what has happened to you. As hard as it is for you dust yourself off, get back out with friends and start dating again. If he has already decided to leave you, there is not much you can say or do. Just accept the facts and carry on with your ordinary life. With time, you will eventually find somebody else.

It depends. Sometimes people say "let's just be friends" but they don't mean it. It's possible that she really only likes you as a friend, or she wants more but the timing isn't right, or there's something else going on (or she wants to get you off her back completely but doesn't want to hurt you, but this isn't very likely).

Honesty is the best policy. First of all, be honest to yourself. Do you want to be friends with this girl, can you be friends with her? Have you so many things in common that there's stuff you two can talk about, and share, and can you have fun together? If yes, perhaps it's a good idea to be friends. Otherwise, if your feelings for her were just attraction, and/or are too strong, you'll lie to her and to yourself by hanging out together, while she imagines you're all right and you're hurting inside. It's not fair to you or to her. In this case, you two probably need a little time off. Talk about it, and hang out with your other friends for a while.

If you decide that you're all right with a friendship talk to her. Explain that you like her style/you think you have stuff in common/whatever, and you think you could be friends. Don't push her, or make her feel guilty ("I love you so much, but if you can't be my girlfriend, I'll settle for a friendship!") That's manipulative behaviour. Being honest doesn't mean you throw the burden of your pain on the other one. Ask her to be honest, too. Tell her that it will hurt if she wants to cease your relationship, but it's better than to go on faking it. Listen to what she says, and be nice - make it easy for her to open up and share her feelings.

This will be very painful, I'm afraid, but you could be on your way to winning a very good friend, possibly for life.

* It hurts when someone rejects you and becomes your ex. 'You' think you are the one, but he may have other ideas of what he wants in a woman. You are simply second guessing him. If he's worth it and if he still loves you the best thing you can do is get out with girlfriends, start dating again and he may take notice and come back. If not consider yourself lucky because he's not the one you are meant to be with. Trust me when I say that there is that special guy out there just waiting to meet you and it will happen.

* This is very unfair to the children in the family as it's too big a decision for the pre teen or teenager to make as they love both parents. In this case suggest who you feel you would like to live with and make the stipulation you love both of them so you would want to spend some weekends and holidays with the other parent you are not living with. It is possible, in time, that your parents will get back together and if not, then the courts will decide where any children will live ... with the mother (generally), but visitation rights with the father and that is called 'joint custody'.

Yes I think you should because if he doesnt even know if he wants to be with you or not then why should you wait around. Im sure you are better then that. and maybe breaking up with him will show him what he has lost.

If you been with a person for awhile to know differences about them you can notice when they are lying by the way they talk and there facial expressions. Actions speak louder than words so if they are telling you something that you dont think they will do u'll just have to wait and see if they prove it to you.

A trust was broken .... you left her once! You can't give her a promise 100% that you won't leave her. Don't make promises you may not be able to keep. If she is willing to get back with you then you are going to have to do a lot of hard work such as better communication skills and respect and loyalty towards her to make her trust you again. Most times the 'grass on the other side of the fences ISN'T greener!'

• If he is mature enough then he does owe you an explanation for breaking off the engagement. He could have 'cold feet'; he may suddenly feel he is not ready for marriage or he does not feel he loves you enough to get married. Talk to him and tell him to be man enough to give you a reason for the break up of your engagement. If he still refuses consider yourself lucky that you didn't marry such an immature person. Realize it is not your fault and consider the fact that he is not the one that you should be considering marrying and that fate has a way of changing people's plans (although the individual involved may not understand those reasoning's) but, it frees you up to eventually meet that special person that is right for you. Also, if you choose not too you do not have to give him the ring back (unless it is a family heirloom ... not common in most cases) and the ring is yours to keep. The choice is up to you.

Answer Maybe validated isn't the right word to use. Maybe he feels hurt that you broke up with him. To validate something is to approve it, not to feel bad about it.

You take them to the appropriate court depending on the amount and what they own for. You gather all of the bills and other monies that this person is accountable for and have it ready to show the judge. If you prove your case you can also sue for the court filing fee. Good luck.
