I will use my own personal experience. I have done everything I wife can do and more but when the marriage is finally over, everything we do are more different than normal. My ex hardly talk to me, even when we started our life together. His always busy and don't make time anymore especially to me, even though he promised me that after the navy, it will be my turn. Always staying inside his office till early morning. He kept himself busy all the time even on a weekend. I could tell you much more but I think the only way you will know is ask your spouse.

How do you get over the fear of being hurt by a guy again?
Give your self time to recover from the experience, so that you do not rebound to another unsuitable guy. Basically, you can count on each person you meet being different, and you yourself are different with each person, so then the outcome may not be the same. It is true that you do have to take the calculated risk that you may be hurt if you engage in relationships--it is part of living.
I'd like to add something to the above answer. As a Life Coach this is what I tell my clients: you have the power to decide if people can hurt you or not. Once you stop needing validation through other people they no longer have the power to hurt you. Stop caring so much what others think & whether or not they accept you & start listening to & accepting your own self. That is true self empowerment & no one can take it away from you.

My quick advice is try not to dwell on new comers to old relationships. This new girlfriend may be a great person, and you should be happy. Happy for 2 reasons...1: you and your ex parted ways for a reason. Maybe it is best that you are no longer together....2: they could have a very happy life together. This could turn into an opertunity to find some one special as well. Well if that isn't complex...The answer will be more advice than factual information. I would say it all depends. If the man is simply too busy, (working all the hours he doesn't sleep), then I could see the trouble. He simply can't raise a family unless he quits his job. On the other hand, if he wants to work more than see his family and it's apparent that he has plenty of spare time, then I would suppose he shouldn't even want to see his daughter.
If you are talking about being divorced, and how often he should visit, once again it depends. First of all, remember his daughter should have a say. Second, if he was never abusive or anything, and he claims to miss and love his family, he should be able to visit very frequently. If he has verbally mistreated her, then I always say: people deserve a second chance, but never a third. If he has otherwise mistreated/abused her or anyone in the immediate household, he should not visit often at all, as he is a bad role model and always a potential danger.
