The atmosphere in the salon was friendly and attentive. My appointment began promptly, almost as soon as I arrived, with no waiting or over-booking. The was no rushing me to the stylist's chair and although the staff was friendly, they were also very professional and not overly chatty or stand-offish like so many other salons.The stylist was experienced and listened to my requests for a flat-iron and layers. The stylist agreed to give me the style I wanted but with some compromise based on their past clients. My stylist pointed out my face shape (heart-shaped) and what I could realistically expect with my type of hair (waist-length, wavy, and prone to frizz) and used high quality products.When my stylist turned me around to face the mirror I was pleasantly stunned with the great work I'd gotten. I ended up with my hair cut into long layers framing my face, flat-ironed and with conservative honey-blond highlights. I didn't come to the salon for highlights but my stylist was right when they suggested that the highlights would make my eyes and other features stand out more.This is the first time in a long time that I've left a hair salon feeling completely satisfied with how my hair looked and felt. So many stylists dictate the style they intend to give me, or pretend to listen to what I ask for, instead my stylist compromised and I ended up with a style that suited my facial features perfectly. I will be returning to this salon to have my layers re-cut as soon as they grow back in as well as have my highlights touched up. My stylist gave me information on how to keep my hair straight for as long as possible as well as explained how each hair product worked and even suggested the best flat-iron for my hair.All in all this was a perfect salon experience!

Again, there are a couple of stations in Jamaica, Queens, so I don't know which one you're talking about: there's the Jamaica-179th Street stop on the F line (of the B-D-F-V, the orange line), and there's also a Jamaica Center Parsons/Archer stop on the J-Z (of the J-M-Z, the brown line) and E (of the A-C-E, the blue line).
The J-Z (the brown line) goes from Jamaica Center Parsons/Archer through north Brooklyn, and you can transfer to the L at the Broadway-Eastern Parkway Station. Take the L to either Grand Street, Graham Avenue, Lorimer Street, or Bedford Avenue. All of these stops are in Williamsburg.
If you are talking about the Jamaica-179th Street stop, then: take the F from Jamaica-179th Street to the Briarwood Van Wyck Boulevard stop, and transfer to the E. Take the E to either Sutphin Boulevard Archer Avenue or Jamaica Center Parsons/Archer, and transfer to the J or Z. Take the J or Z to the Broadway-Eastern Parkway Station and transfer to the L.
