Can you paint over a photograph?
Yes, acrylic latex paint is a water base. Alkyd is an oil base. You can definitely use acrylic paint to paint your walls. Just make sure it is a high quality interior paint. If you mean 'art paint' when you say 'acrylic' paints, I'm pretty sure that paint is best used on canvases, etc... If you use that particular paint for accents on a wall, just make sure to go over it with a polycrylic.
What is the value of a Polaroid Spectra camera with lens?
The Polaroid Spectra cameras were manufactured from 1987 until 2000, and were considered an advanced edition of the 600 line. They originally retailed for about $249.00, and were aimed at the professional market.
The camera shipped with a 125 mm three-element plastic "Quintic" f/10 lens, although some models apparently have a sharper ground glass lens. The picture quality was superior to earlier Polaroid models. Other new features included red-eye reduction, wider photo format, and the ability to use either auto- or manual focus.
Despite the many benefits of the Spectra, they are not in demand with collectors. One reason may be that the film has been discontinued, and is scare, expensive and expired. A small boutique company, Impossible Project, makes a limited amount of fresh Spectra film, but it's also expensive.
The early Spectras sell for almost nothing -- sometimes less than $1.00, usually no more than $10. The more recent (black) Spectra II commands a slightly higher price, between $15.00 and $50.00, depending on condition.

What happens when you make the hole bigger in a pinhole camera?
Yes.
Option 1 (>1:1 on The Print): Take any photo and have it enlarged until the subject is larger than life size.
Option 2 (>1:1 on The Negative): Expose the image with a subject distance shorter than the camera's focal length.
Capturing images inside the focal length (Option 2) of a pinhole camera can create some very interesting perspective. Very small or flat subjects will look "normal", but larger more dimensional subjects will get stretched. The effect can be somewhat like a fish-eye lens.
When was the first permanent photographic image made and who made it?
Sometime in the summer of 1827 Joseph Nicéphore Niépce is credited with producing the world's first photograph, a picture of buildings visible from the rooftop of his home. See the Related Link below.
What kind of film does a digital camera use?
yes it does matter what film is used, Film have different ISO ratings, ISO is the rating of how sensitive it is to light the higher the number the more sensitive the film is. most common is 400 ISO film for Indoor and Outdoor, 1600 ISO is for faster shutter speeds which is great for Action and fast moving Objects/ Subjects.
Taking the above into account, you also need the correct format. 35mm, 120, and the older 110, 126, 127 disc, etc.
While 35mm and 120 can still be obtained quite easily, most of the others are out of production now. A nasty one is Kodak instant film, after Polaroid sued Kodak for copyright infringement, all cameras and film stock had to be destroyed.
You might find a Kodak instant camera, but you'll never get film for it.

How long did it take to take a picture with the first cameras?
This depends on what you mean by the first photo. Many people came up with impermanent photos using a camera abscura. The first photo of known permanance took all afternoon, this is thought to be indicated by the fact that there are no shadows and the seen is lit in a way that there would have been shadows, in places where there should be ,had it been a faster shot. Also, the chemicals used are slow to react. The medium was bismith of judea and lavender oil,it was taken in the begining of the 19th century.

How do you remove a scratch from a digital camera screen?
Many portable electronic devices have coatings on them, such as anti-scratch and anti-glare. The best way to repair them is to fill in and build up the scratches, layer-by-layer; using a repair kit that addresses coated plastics. Since coatings refract light differently (tint), results will be determined by the depth and width of the scratch and tint of the coating. I have listed a good source for a scratch filler, called Scratch Pro, which fills in and protects against light abrasions/fuzzy marks. You can also do a search online using the plus symbol in front of fix and scratch and then add the item you want to fix. For example: +fix +scratch (item to be fixed). Or +LCD +scratch +repair etc.
What are some similarities between a film camera and a digital camera?
There are many parts to the average point and shoot digital camera, the basics are as follows:
1) The lens. Just like a film SLR camera, this focuses the light coming into the camera onto the device that will capture the image.
2) The CCD or CMOS sensor. This is part takes the light that enters the lens and translates it into a digital signal. The size of the CCD or CMOS varies, from 25mm2 up to 1977mm2 and can contain anywhere from less than 1 million pixels (1MP) to 24 million pixels (24MP) and up. Each pixel is a 'dot' in the image, the more megapixels the more dots that comprise the image. This is not a measure of quality, it is only a measure of size.
3) The PCB. There can be one or more Printed Circuit Boards inside the camera. These process the information and are the 'brains' of the camera. Think of it like the motherboard inside your computer, just much smaller.
4) The memory. This may take the form of built in memory which is soldered to the PCB (non-upgradeable), or it can be removeable memory cards that can be changed at any time.
5) The LCD screen. Most digital cameras now being produced have at least a small LCD screen which allows you to view photos as they are being taken or play them back after they have been taken. The LCD screen is lit by a 'backlight' which shines through the screen allowing the image being displayed to be seen. Without the backlight, the LCD is dark and unviewable.
6) The flash. Most, if not all digital cameras have a built in flash. The flash provides a great deal of light from a very small source and allows the camera to take pictures without blurring the image in dark situations without a tripod.
7) The body. The outer casing of the camera holds all the inner components together and allows the user to easily use the camera without damaging it.
How do you pause your camera during a video?
no, i tried, every time i click pause, it stops the film and starts a new one and it's very frustrating.
Actually you can, it's a bit more work then a typical point and shoot camera. But what you need to do (depending on how long you want the video) is film one long continuous clip, and rather than with a normal camera click the shutter... move the subject... click the shutter again, you move your subject, then take your hands out of frame for a second to get the shot. Do that for all your frames.
Then take a screenshot for each frame you need, just make sure your hands are out and animate it with whatever program you usually do it with

What is the function of film in a camera?
The film in a camera is what actually records the image focused on it by the lens. Film serves the same function as the sensor in your digital camera, but it does so differently. Film is coated with an emulsion made of gelatin in which are light sensitive salts of silver. When exposed to light, these silver halides as they are called become able to be developed chemically into an image which faithfully records the lights and darks of the original scene. The sensor in your digital camera does the same, except that it doesn't require chemical development to view the image.
How do you upgrade your camera?
Upgrading my camera has been a two fold reasoning with me. One aspect is the capabilities of my camera. As and when I feel that my camera cannot deliver what I need from it, in terms of features, I upgrade. I upgraded to the Nikon D80 about a year ago, but found that it was not capable of doing everything I wanted to, so I went ahead and upgraded to the Nikon D300. Another aspect is technology. I have been using the same film camera for many years now, and have not had to dispose it. But at the same time, have bought newer flm cameras with many newer features, like the F80 a few years ago, and an F6, about a year and a half ago. I still have all my old film cameras, starting from the medium format Yashica Twin Lens 124G, and all the cameras in between. Film cameras just don't go old, so long as you take care of them and do a little CLA (Clean Lube Adjust) once in a while. Sadly, the same cannot be said about the digital cameras... I have replaced and disposed my older ones every time. After all, I could not see the reason for keeping the older cameras, which I just would not be able to use after a few years.
What types of file formats do digital camera use to store images?
There are 3 formats that are most used. There are more but the most common are:
.png
.jpg (same as .jpeg)
.gif (for animated images)
How do you fix a stuck camera lens?
You bring it to a professional for maintenance. Especially if you are a professional, why would you want to take the chance of ruining the camera or the lens?
depending on what is meant by "inside lens." If you are talking about an interior element it definitely goes to the maker or other pro. if you mean the rear element of the lens then a blower and a lens cloth can serve
It depends on how you like your shots and which way you prefer to develop them. Always go with an SLR. The name brand is your choice. Remember it is not the camera that makes it, it's the photographer, and your own perception on which you would like to capture your image. Whether you prefer a digital SLR or non-digital is your choice.
Ps., Check out The Art Institute of Santa Ana. It has a great program for digital photography!
How do you get videos from a Sony handycam video camera onto your computer?
There are a couple of ways to do it. If the camera is a DV camera, it will have a firewire connector as its digital video output. Older cameras will normally just have an analog video and audio output. First, the computer needs a firewire interface (also known as a 1394 interface) or a video capture card. Many new computers have firewire already installed but few will have an analog video capture card. Both interfaces can be bought as add ons. Once the interface is installed, video capture software is needed to ingest the video signal. Depending on the software package, it will be imported as AVI, for uncompressed storage that is good for editing or MPEG, for archiving with smaller file sizes. Other programs will allow the video to be written direct to a DVD.
What happens to the size of the image if the object is moved closer to the lens of a camera?
The size of the image has no relevance to how close or far a lens is from its target, regardless if the camera is digital or not.
If the camera is set to save images at 800x600, it will still be 800x600 no matter where the lens is focused.
