These are people in my life that add nothing to my life and are 'high maintenance' meaning they always want something from me (give nothing of themselves back to me), perhaps constantly moody, always complaining and yet doing nothing to help themselves. I usually give a person several chances to rectify our friendship, but if they don't get the picture then out they go! As you age you will also be able to handle most things without feeling so hurt, so your path in life is a learning field. Don't worry so much about it.

It may sound odd if no one has suggested this to you before - but, meow back at the cat. Practice to get the same tone and length as the meow your cat is making. It satisfies their need to hear a response. This too may tend to annoy you, but it is proven to work in many, many cases like yours.
