What is mammogram and at what age should you start getting them?
A mammogram is a routine test to examine the breast for any abnormalities. It can be slightly uncomfortable, basically they xray your breast in simple terms. Your doctor can tell you when you should start receiving mammograms yearly. If you have a family history of breast cancer, you should start a yearly exam in your 20's. Also, as prevelant as breast cancer has been recently, women are getting it at earlier ages. Typically around your late 30's early 40's is when they recommend to start the yearly mammogram exam
What is the differences between endometriosis and endometrial cancer?
To answer this question we first have to delve into the arcane world for latin (and medicine). Feel free to skip the next two bullet points, and get to the answer (I don't mind). * -osis. Noun. meaning, a growth. * -carcinoma. Noun. Meaning, a "bad" growth. The endometrium is periodically found in the female reproductive tract, and forms the nuturing, nutirient and blood-rich layer upon which a baby may attach (via the placenta). This layer is normally shed within a 28-day cycle (Menses) if fertilization and implantation of the ova (egg) have not occured. Endometriosis refers to the benign (yet maybe still painful and problematic) condition of "growth" of the endometrial cells. Normally these guys are supposed to live only in the uterus, and should only survive for about 4 weeks. Occasionally, a cell or two gets outside of the uterus, and will, "set up shop" wherever it lands. This could be on the ovary, the fallopian tube, the uterus, or anywhere else in the abdominal cavity. Since they're deprived of the normal signals the rest of the endometrium (living quietly within the uterus) receives, they may continue to grow. Generally, when this happens, however, they grow neatly, and orderly. Endometrial Carcinoma, in contrast, occurs when these cells loose the instruciton to die, or are otherwise genetically dammaged. They still can exist anywhere, but are more likely to wreak havoc on those cells surrounding them. A general search for "cancer" on this site will likely find an article I wrote awhile back about cancer...it's a disease of the DNA.
Name of cervical cancer vaccine?
The cervical cancer vaccination is a vaccination that is applied in 3 separate doses. The does are in the form of needles and are carried out over 6 months (in England). The vaccine protects the user from certain species of the Human papillomavirus virus, which is associated to cervical cancer genital warts and some other less common forms of cancer (anal, vulvar, vaginal and penile). There are currently two HPV vaccinations on the market, Gardasil and cervarix. Both vaccines protect against two of the HPV types that can cause cervical cancer and some other genital cancers. Gardasil also protects against two of the HPV types that cause genital warts.
Cervical cancer can be terminal, but if caught early the prognosis is good. Pap smears test for it, which is why it is important to visit the gynecologist regularly. Pap smears not only catch cancer itself, but the changes to cells that come before cancer occurs. In the
early stages it may only be necessary to remove part of the cervix to prevent cancer, a minor price for what otherwise would be a very serious disease.
As a disclaimer, I am not a doctor. However, my grandmother died of cervical cancer at the age of 36, so I have something of an interest. In those days (1950) there was much less known about cancer in general, and less attention paid to women's health in particular. Even if there had been effective tests and treatment at the time, my grandmother would have unlikely had access to them, poor and uneducated as she was. These days, we may be too poor to lay out cash for a doctor regularly, but we can be educated enough to find free and low-cost care from women's health clinics. You may not agree with a given clinic's politics, but don't let that stop you from taking advantage of what they offer.
If you've seen all those ads for HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccines, yes, it is true that an STD is responsible for many cases of cervical cancer. This does not mean that you have to be promiscuous or even sexually active to develop it. Remember, cervical cancer kills young women. Every woman should consider herself at risk.

Can hymen break during cervical cancer test?
The hymen doesn't break, but it can stretch or be torn whenever there is vaginal penetration. A speculum being inserted into the vagina may tear the hymen, but not normally as the doctor will be gentle to allow the hymen to stretch rather than tear needlessly.
Can anyone get brain cancer from brain cancer patient?
No, not under any normal circumstances.
No type of cancer spreads from person to person under normal conditions.
The only theoretical way for it to spread would be from surgical implantation of the cancer cells between two patients and even than there is a chance the implanted cells may be destroyed by the implant patients immune system.
What is the link between virus's and cancer?
some viruses have been known to trigger certain types of cancers..
Adenocarcinomas arise from the glandular lining of the endocervical canal. After your biopsy if the margins arent clear, your oncologist would probably want you to have regular pap smears ie: every 3-6 mths. to check to see if there has been any cell changes. The best kind of pap smear to have done is called a "Thin Prep" it is really accurate....though here in Australia, it cost a little more, but worth the expense at the end of the day. If you are concerned as I can imagine you are, contact your doctor and insist on getting some clear information from them....and ask them to explain in a fashion that you can understand. Drs seem to forget, not everyone when to university to learn medicine. Keep your chin up hun! What is the technology used to generate Virus-like particles as vaccines for cancer?
Hey there!
This right here is a very interesting question, so thank you for asking.
The technology used here is recombinant genome technology where scientists use plasmids with genes from the virus which will only code the outer shell but not let it have any of its proteins that will make it lethal. In other words, they make the virus unarmed to cause a serious infection. Also, there should be a specific cell line to help you produce such VLPs.
But before that, the scientist must know the genome construct of the virus, how its genome is organised, how the genes are expressed and who does the virus relate to. Once they know that, they can do the above, but believe me, it can involve a lot of trial and error and reading many papers to get ideas on how to make such an experiment successful.
I can give one great example, the making of the third type of polio vaccine using the VLP technology where the virus is just an empty husk and lacking an entire genome.
Hopefully, I was able to answer your question! 😄
