"Christmas Carol" was written by Charles Dickens and was first published on December 19, 1843. It is a beloved classic story that follows the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man, through visits from the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come.

Mr. Murdstone is portrayed as a cold, cruel, and controlling character in "David Copperfield." He is manipulative, abusive, and authoritarian towards David and his mother. He represents the oppressive and oppressive side of Victorian society, embodying qualities of emotional repression and domination.

He went back to France because an old family servant, who was a friend to him, sent him a letter begging for help. This servant, Gabelle, had been imprisoned and he was asking for Darnay to come and deliver him.

He also learns more about Miss Havisham's past and her desire for revenge on all men through Estella. Pip gets a glimpse of his own background when he meets a strange man in the brewery who stirs up memories of his childhood.

Scrooge was initially angry and upset when he saw people stealing his belongings. However, he later reflects on his own actions and how he has contributed to the hardships faced by those who resorted to theft. Ultimately, this experience leads to a change of heart in Scrooge.

"There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" is a children's rhyme that was first published in 1952 by Rose Bonne, a Canadian singer and storyteller. The origins of the rhyme, however, can be traced back to earlier versions that date as far back as the 18th century.

Dickens was especially tormented by the latter, and Mary appeared in many of Dickens' novels, most notably Little Nell in The Old Curiosity Shop.
