Yes and no. It is a fast little car because it's got 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts. It is not because it is an interference engine which means that if the timing belt brakes the valves go through the pistons. It is not because it only gets 25mpg in the city and you are lucky if you get 30mpg on the highway.

The timing belt needs changed every 60k miles. The last one i had changed on my 2006 Aveo was $350. I have the 5 speed and get 32mpg at 72mph. city mileage varies greatly depending on your driving habits.

Yes. Hatch won't open for the 4th time, door lock has fallen into door for the 2nd time. Steering wheel shimmies at 60+ on highway and when accelerating. Turn signal wont turn off unless do a sharp turn. Speaker on driver side doesn't work. Know doesn't seem like big problems but has only 36,600 miles and bought with 75 on it and at $45 hour labor to fix little things that keep breaking can get expensive. Bought new so wouldn't have these little problems. Dreading the first big expense. Won't recommend to anyone.

There should be a diagram under the hood. Look once you have the hood open. If you can't find it there, then check the owners manual.

Behind the headlamp is a hexnut holding in place a serrated lock washer. Loosen it. From the top of the headlight, between the two mounting tabs on the frame is a hole which you can pass a torx head screwdriver (T15). The Torx driver turns the lock washer and adjusts the vertical axis. When done, tighten the hex nut. There is no horizontal adjustment.

If you are not able to located the spark plugs on a car, you need not be working on it.

The spark plugs are under the black plastic cover on the top of the engine. The cover is held on by 4 Allen screws.

There is no such thing as GM type-IV. There is Toyota T-IV (which is also used by Ford, Mazda, Daewoo (Chevy Aveo and Epica), Hyundai and Kia) and there is GM Dexron-VI. If you're referring to Dexron-VI, then no, there is no substitute. You don't have to get it from GM but the fluid you buy MUST say Dexron-VI on it. As for T-IV, all multi-vehicle fluids tend to support it (but read the back label anyway) and JWS-3309 fluids also tend to support it (but again, ALWAYS read the back label).

unplug the battery for about 10min itll reset the computer but not damage it, itll just reset to its factory settings

Dexacool Radiator fluid. Don't use the cheaper stuff that they sell at auto parts stores because it will not work the same. I used the cheap stuff in my other GM car that I use to own, and I noticed the car was running hotter. When I checked the fluid, it was gunked up. Really weird. I re-drained the system, filled it up with dexacool and had no problems after that.

reach under the bumper behind the fog light and twist the bulb out of the socket with a counterclockwise turn- unclip the wiring harness and attach new bulb and re-intall into housing with clockwise turn - bulb number is 8001

you can turn the socket either way but be gentle; the plastic is really not that strong. make sure the rubber gasket at the base that snugs up is flat and in good shape. a HUGE reason fog lamps go out is condensation due to a leaky/bad seal.

A Chevy Aveo can not be flat towed. It needs to be dolly towed, front tires off the ground, rear tires on the ground. Consult your local Chevy dealer for more info.

on the intake hose. its the sensor close to the paded metal pipe

A Chevy Aveo is a good car to get. It is very economical car and gets around 35mpg. This would be a great family car. If you travel around the country and don't want to spend a lot on gas this is the car for you.

Remove the plastic cover on top of the engine by removing the 4 srews with an Allen key, you will them see the 4 spark plug cables going from Right to Left and down to the spark plugs. Grab the rubber thing the wire goes through, they will require a good yank, do not pull on the wires themselves. The plugs are at the bottom of the hole you just created.

hii... aveo uva is the correct choice in premium hatch category of cars.. gm reduced its spare costs and thers lots of warranies on maintanance.. ground clearance is best in class with 188mm.. spaers r available easily with dealer..
