No, but they are close. The spokes are slightly different. The center caps are different. Regal rims are usually chrome plated and charcoal gray or black. Chevelle SS wheels are painted argent and charcoal gray. Regal rims usually don't have trim rings and Chevelle SS wheels do. Not huge differences, but you can easily tell the difference even when they are installed on the car. Chevy only used the magnum 500 style SS wheels in 1969 and 1970. They DID use them on Novas, Camaros, and Chevelles though.

It depends on model and options. A stripped down 2 door with a straight six and a manual transmission can weigh as little as 3300 pounds. A Big block car can weigh in excess of 3800 pounds, depending on options. That's just the two door models. Four doors and station wagons are even heavier.

From 1964 to 1977 the Malibu was a trim package more than anything else. It was a step up from the base Chevelle model, and was generally called a sport coupe. The early super sports were actually called "Malibu Super Sport" before ALL super sports became "SS396" in 1966. By 1970, ALL super sports were Malibius and even shared the same VIN model number as the Malibu. For Coupes, the model number was 13637. While ALL super sports were Malibus, most Malibus were NOT Super Sports. The fact that regular Malibus and Super Sports shared the same model nimber on the VIN is what makes it SO difficult to tell the difference between a genuine Super Sport and a SS clone in 1970 if the car is cloned well. Unfortunately, it also makes it possible to pass off a clone as a genuine Super Sport. In 1978, the Chevelle name was dropped and ALL Chevelles were called Malibus after that.

It is with a station wagon for sure. El Caminos are actually modified Chevelle station wagons with the roof removed believe it or not. The chrome trim around the rear window and bed are actually there to hide where the roof was removed. the panel at the front of the bottom of the bed covers the rear leg well. While it SHOULD work, I can't promise you they are actually the same. Knowing GM's love for interchangeability, they most likely are.

The switch is located on top of the steering column. It's rod actuated. Remove the negative battery cable. Remove the screws that mount the column to the firewall and the two bolts that hold it up to the dashboard. Two screws mount it to the column. Remember, it's rod actuated, so you'll need to make sure the rod is properly mated with the new switch, and make sure it's properly adjusted. The mounting screws are also the adjustment screws because the mounting holes are elongated to allow for adjustment.

Depends on which 396 it is. The hydraulic cammed 396's (L34 and L35) got a quadrajet. The L78 (solid lifter cam) came with a Holley 780. The heads will also tell you which one, Oval port engines got the quadrajet and square port engines got the Holley.

I use autolite plugs in my 454 and you can feel the difference in performance over AC delco's.

my 70 el camino holds 20 gallons they use the same tank as a chevelle just the fill tube is in a diffrent place (chevelle's located at the license plate) (el camino is located at the drivers side twards the end of the bed)

Not without some serious modification. Chevelles had a coil spring rear suspension while the S-10 uses leaf springs. While I haven't measured, I'm pretty sure the Chevelle rear end is also wider than an S-10 rear end. Now, you COULD change the spring mounts and narrow the Chevelle rear end to fit, but there are alternatives that would be MUCH easier to use in an S-10.

Which 454? The LS5 and LS6 are two VERY different engines even though they are both 454's. Timing specs are different as well. 8 degrees before TDC at idle will work for either, but may not be optimal.

There's no way to truly tell for sure, but Chevelles were staggeringly popular, one of the best-selling intermediates of the time.

Standing on the drivers side of your car, remove the air filter & check the intake manifold to the left of the distributor. You'll find a six or seven digit number that will eliminate guess work.
