I just changed the fuel filter on my 2000 tracker 4x4 4 door SUV this evening, it's behind the rear passenger side wheel well right in front of the fuel tank. You'll have to put it on a jack stand or ramp to get to it but it's not hard to do.
I am having the same problem, so far, I have found the code refers the the EGR System. I will post more about what I find out.
your sensers for your air bag detected a impact but only one senser detected this so the air bag did not go off its around 400 dollars to fix
Usually it means that the oil needs to be changed, or that a belt of oxygen pump needs to be replaced. If it's letting you know it's detecting something, that means that it's not that bad, but needs to get fixed.
Threre is a button just a little below the 'shift' button on the gearshift. Pushing this button in will turn off o/d. Threre is a button just a little below the 'shift' button on the gearshift. Pushing this button in will turn off o/d.
WHICH ONE'S? THE CORNER OR THE BRACKET ON THE BACK? THE CORNERS USE A PHILLIPS SCREW DRIVER
i have a 2001 Chevy tracker and i just replaced the crank sensor. i have been having a problem with mine not cranking. i would drive it and cut it off. it would not crank up until after it sat for a while. the crank sensor has not fixed the problem though. you have to take the tranmission out and take the flywheel off. the sensor is behind it. hopes this helps. i got a sensor at napa for about $100. advance auto parts wanted about $174 for it i think
Make sure the POWER DOOR OFF button on the dash isn't pushed in. Page 23 of the manual has instructions for Reseting the controls.
I forget what it's called off hand but if you look on the drivers side of your gear shifter you'll see a little button, if your engine seems to be racing too high start the car then push that button ( I believe it's called an over drive button) if it's on the wrong setting a O/D light shows up in the bottom right of the instrument panel and the engine races way to high. Very easy to hit by accident when putting the car into a different gear. You want that O/D light to be off.
Yes, there is an engine diagram for this specific vehicle. It is found in the maintenance and repair manual books to this car.
Hey Sheila==Call a couple of local garages as it varies as to where you live. GoodluckJoe
I had mine replaced for 800
I own 2003 Tracker 4x4 4 cyl.
My crossmember is rusted out and the dealer will replaced- no cost to me.
But I have question: if the crossmember is out - will be easy to replace the oil pan and starter ? any saving for me?

Have the computer scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. Some auto parts stores will do this for free.
depends on the year and motor.
but old trackers , pre 96 ,
will go to Limphome mode and suck gas. 15mpg is reported.
this happens when there are many bad sensors on car and ecu can control fuel properly.
check all sensors .
if after 96 and newer , you can monitor them with OBD2 full scan tools.

The s10 4 wheel drive systems are vacuum activated and most problems with engagment can be traced to 3 possible culprits - leaking vacuum lines, faulty transfer case vacuum switch (part # 89059420) or faulty vacuum actuator (part # 25031740) which usually is located under the battery tray. These are all relatively cheap to replace. If you have push button engagement (on the dash) listen for engagement at the transfer case when the button is pushed. If you don't hear it, you may have a problem with your Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) (a small metal box under the dash) or your Transfer Case Encoder Motor which is mounted on the side of the transfer case. The encoder motors are more expensive but can be purchased on eBay and elsewhere. There are ways to test/troubleshoot both the TCCM and Encoder motors but might not be advisable unless you're pretty mechanically inclined. Good Luck!
I have owned a 1994 S10 4x4 Blazer now for 6 Years, It seems every time I have some stupid problem with it all I have to do is "REBOOT REBOOT REBOOT" JUST LIKE ANY Computer today it seems to work on most this crap you read about on these trucks, when the 4x4 won't engage or when it wont disengage, the very first thing I try is pull the + positive cable off the battery and hold it to a ground to dump all the power from the system (IT RESETS EVERTHING) and to date this method has never fail me, try it you can't hurt anything and it could save yourself a lot of time and money.
Mine is right next to the rear window defroster button, it's a pretty big button so maybe yours is ina different position then mine as mine is very hard to miss.
Could possibly be the electric fuel pump is not producing enough pressure. Or the fuel filter is clogged from not changing it, or a bad load of gas clogged it. Perform fuel pressure test if filter is OK
For the front speakers, take apart the door, disconnect the speaker wires and unscrew support screws.
The only way it would work (long term) to install a speedy sleeve is if the crank had a small groove in it from the old seal.
These sleeves are designed to overcome that problem, not chipping or any other damage. They will work for a seal groove but they can be tricky to install. You might have to buy more than one to get it all the way on without crushing it.
Take your time and be careful and follow the directions to the letter.
