Why do Chihuahuas cough so much?
They are so petite, they swallow pieces of food too big then swallow them after coughing (same with pieces of string from toys).
Chihuahuas have small tracheas and cough when it gets blocked. Walking a chihuahua on a collar can block off their tracheas, so it's recommended that when walking any small dog always use a harness because it takes the pressure off their tiny necks. Some chihuahuas also cough when stressed, it's called a reverse sneeze (aka cough) and can make a worried pet owner panic. It's a hacking couch that sounds like they are trying to get air into their lungs. The trick there is to remain calm and try to calm your chihuahua down, some gentle petting will relax them enough to get them through it.

No, Chihuahuas don't have to live in a big house. A small house or an apartment will be okay as long as you take it out for walks daily.
Any dog might be good luck to you just because they love you... But in particular Chihuahuas are not good luck.. but they can be depending on the personality of the dog.
What types of Chihuahuas are there?
There are a few different types of Chihuahua that are recognised as standard:
- Shorthaired - Has a short smooth coat, and typically is said to shed very little.
- Longhaired -The long coat that can be straight or curly. The ears of this type have a unique fringe and the tail is long and furry. For these types of Chihuahua, shedding is more common and because of the long hair, thus the dog would need to be groomed more often than a shorthaired.
- Applehead - Has a short nose and a rounded head, often broader than the jaw, similar to that of an apple.
- Deerhead - Not seen as a standard due to the sloping forehead. Deerheads have longer noses than Appleheads.
Irresponsible Chihuahua 'breeders' often use terms like 'Teacup', 'Pocket-size', 'Toy' etc. to describe puppies, often bred to achieve a tiny size and not for health. These terms are not recognized by the breed standards and are marketing gimmicks to inflate the value of puppies.

Obviously it would be a small dog. A chorkie probably wouldn't go over 3 to 5 lbs at the most.

- If you use heat (even though you shouldnt) use heat protectant/
- Dont wash your hair every single day. Maybe every other day. If you can't do this, use dry shampoo the next day. Works like a dream
- Use warmish-hot water to wash your hair
- Don't tie your hair when you sleep. Or tie it very loosely, if you have to
- Trim your hair regularly.
- Don't dye your hair a lot.
- Use hair masks once a week.
- Eating the right foods. eg. Salmon, oily fish, cereal, nuts, eggs, vegtables.
- Having a healthy diet.
- Exercise
- Don't stress, it causes hair loss. Do whatever you need to do to reduce stress
- Get your beauty sleep
