Describe the relationship between size of the receptive field and acuity or discriminative ability of the recetor?

The size of the receptive field varies inversly with acuity. So when you have a smaller receptive field, you have a greater acuity. For example, your finger tips vs your calf. Your fingertips can feel things a lot better than your calf can. This is because they have a smaller receptive field (ie dense grouping of receptors), and therefore can distinguish between many stimuli at a time. Whereas your calf is a large receptive field with non-dense receptors, and have smaller acuity.

What is average heart beat of a fetus at birth?

I would expect the heart rate to be zero as a fetus would be non viable outside of the womb.

If you meant a child at the time of birth, that's different.

A typical newborn right at birth (and prior to it) will have a heart rate somewhere between 110-160 on average.

Once born, this typically slows a little bit but is still in a range of about 90-160.

The average heart rate continues to slow through childhood until it reaches an average of 60-100 (the adult range) by the teenage years.

Why do infants have increased respiratory rates?

Infants have increased respiratory rates compared to adults because their lungs are smaller and less efficient at exchanging oxygen, requiring more frequent breaths to meet their metabolic needs. Additionally, infants have underdeveloped respiratory control centers in the brain, leading to a faster respiratory rate to maintain proper oxygen levels.

Yes, it is possible for a 14 year old to do P90X. I am 13 as well and am on day 52. I have noticed a major increase in general strength. However, many kids this age to not have the hormone in their body to build mass, so that may not be the outcome for you.

So speaking from experience. I'm a 16 year old guy, and anyone below the age of 14 should not go anywhere near this, due to the use of weights, and a pre-pubescent body should not be put under the straight of free weights. Ask your doctor about it; and if he says no, go look up Insanity. It'll do the same kinda things, but without weights.

How can you build a relationship with your mother if you are a boy who likes to dress up in women's clothing?

Well, this might be a challenge or to your surprise it could be easier than you think. I am sure your Mother already has an inkling that you might have been doing this for a while. (You do not say how old you are so this could change my answer). I am guessing that you are still living at home (under the age of 20?). With all the info and "new" accepting attitudes surrounding us today, I am certain you could show your Mom an article about cross dressing and then start "fishing" for her opinion on the subject. Most people seem "harsh" when first confronted with a trait that is not deemed "normal" but.... most people also warm to any character trait that makes the other person HAPPY. This is a fact. You will be accepted. Start talking. Risk being yourself. There is a huge amount of support available. The reason you will get though this is because of UNCONDITIONAL love... From your Mom to you!.

What is juvenile rheumatoid arthritis

Arthritis that occurs in people under the age of 16 is referred to as juvenile arthritis. "Juvenile arthritis" covers a number of different types of arthritis in children. The most prevalent type is called "juvenile idiopathic arthritis" or JIA, and also called "juvenile rheumatoid arthritis" (JRA) or "juvenile chronic arthritis" (JCA). A child can be struck by this disease at any age from babies onwards. It may present with only mild symptoms or it may start with a severe full blown attack. Many children, while suffering some discomfort and pain from this disease, are able to get on with normal lives. However, for others it can be a very debilitating condition accompanied by pain and limited mobility in everyday activities. As there is still no cure for juvenile arthritis we can only treat the symptoms in an effort to limit pain and damage to joints and other tissue. For some children the symptoms of arthritis may disappear for a time, or the arthritis may even go into remission entirely. Others will continue to have arthritis into their adult years.

About 250,000 children are said to have JRA in the USA.

Arthritis Arthritis is a very painful chronic illness. I should know, I am a thirteen year old who has had it since the age of eight. It causes joint pains. There is no way to tell if you can outgrow it. It usually stays for the rest of your life.
