Why do you study child development if you are not a parent?

I am not a parent, but I study child development. I am far too young to be a parent, but the subject really interests me, as it is fascinating to see how human develope, we were all children once. But also because I would like to gain experience of working with children, as this is one of my preferred career choices.

IF YOU pay child support and sign birth certifacte does that estabilsh paternity?

By "sign the birth certificate" I assume you mean, signed a voluntary acknowledgment of paternity. That establishes paternity. Paying child support does not establish paternity.

But, if you're paying child support and later learn you're not the father, you cannot stop paying under any circumstances in 20 states, and had a two year limit to file in the other 30, even if the mother has married the biological father. Always get a paternity test before signing a birth certificate.

What can a mother that has primary placement do if the father who has secondary placement will not give the child back?

Call the police. If his visitation period (as outlined by court order) has ended and the order says the child should be in the mother's custody, and he will not return the child, it is kidnapping or custodial interference.

You should also call your lawyer. You might need to make a motion to modify the custody agreement to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future.

Can the mother go to the father house and get her child if there isn't a court order saying that the dad has full custody?

No, the mother is no more entitled to custody than the father. If the father currently has temporary or implied custody, then a custody order must first be established before you can get partial custody or visitation rights.

For example, if you moved out and left the child in the care of the father, you forfeited your custody rights until an official custody order has been established.

Can you cancel my child's health insurance at 18 if my child does not live at home?

The answer - for the time being - is going to depend on where you live and what kind of health insurance you have. It is possible that your health insurance company was within its rights to cancel a dependent child's health insurance at age 18 in these circumstances.

However, one of the provisions of health reform which will become effective this year would allow children and young adults to retain health insurance coverage under their parents' health insurance plan until age 26. This isn't scheduled to take effect until September 23, 2010, but you should talk to your health insurance company to find out precisely when you may be able to re-enroll your son or daughter. Some insurers are now allowing earlier enrollments, while in other cases you may be required to wait until the next open-enrollment period following September 23, 2010.

A father of a child should pay for the child. The father of the child should also get to see and influence the child. Unfortunately for the baby, some people do not understand that child support and visitation are two distinct and separate things. Neither one has anything to do with the other one. What are the penalties for owing over 10 thousand in back child support in Florida?

Depends on the reason as a man can be ordered to pay five years of retroactive child support on a child they never knew existed.

Answer

The real penalty is that the child knows you never supported him while he was growing up. Having been one of those children, I know what it feels like and it isn't positive. The determination required to stay angry at the other parent overrode good sense. The child is more important than that.
