I think that black women are seen in a way by men as being loud, offensive, crude, and uneducated. This unflattering picture is unfortunately drawn by the media in TV and movies. It is no way we can compete with the dainty, soft, sexy images that are portrayed by our white counterparts if the media continues to illustrate us in such a negative light. And of all the minority groups of women, I do believe that black women are at the bottom of the list as far as being the most desired of the fairer sex. Just consider the study done by the dating website OK Cupid a few years ago where they found that black women got the least responses to their profiles. Now I am not naive enough to think that the images of black women portrayed in the media are completely untrue. I mean these images did not just appear out of thin air. But just as in any other ethnic group, there are many different types of people, personalities, statuses, demeanors, etc. A lot of us are happy, intelligent, witty, self reliant individuals who want love just like anybody else. So single men out there, I implore you to reconsider your stance on the single black woman. I would ask that you look at us without the preconceived notion that has been constructed in your consciousness by the media, and judge us individually for what each one of us can offer as a mate. We don't definitively know, but it is worth noting that other great apes, our closest relatives, also do not have tails. Perhaps at some point in the evolution of these primates, tails became useless or even inconvenient. Remember if a certain feature becomes useless natural selection will eventually make it disappear over time. Especially as our ancestors started walking upright on two legs, they balanced themselves well and wouldn't have needed a tail.
