Maine became the 23rd state on March 15, 1820 through the Missouri Compromise. This compromise allowed admitting both Maine and Missouri (in 1821) into the union while keeping a balance between slave and free states.

Which invention of the tang and song dynasties do you think was most important?

Well I think the most important invention that the Chinese have made was the Printing Process because we wouldn't have computers that have Microsoft Word, or we maybe wouldn't have computers at all!

I'm not sure if this question is asking if what was the most important invention that both the Tang and Song dynasties.

I think the most important invention the Tang dynasty has made was the great poems because they were about celebrating beauty of nature, the thrill of seasons changing, the joy of having a good friend, expressed sadness for the shortness of life and mourned the cruelty of friends parting.

I think the most important invention in the Song dynasty was their paintings because they didn't try to make the exact pictures of landscapes they were painting. Instead they wished to portray the "idea" of the mountains, lakes, and other features of their landscapes. They also left empty spaces in their paintings on purpose. That is because the Daoist believed that a person cannot know the whole truth about something.

This is what I think was the most important inventions in the Tang and Song dynasties, but you may not.

I hope this answer helps you!!

What were the most important events that happened in Chinese history?

Ancient China's been around longer than the pyramids. For a history of that country, it's best to refer to the website on China. The only interest to western military historians concerning China was their defense systems, such as the "Great Wall of China", and their wars concerning the building of that wall. Which involved fighting the Mongols and associated Barbarians. Those were earth shaking events...that wall can be seen from outer space!

Does modern China have dynasties?

No.

A dynasty is only used to refer to a period of time in the feudal society. In this period of time, a family dominated a large area. They gave their realm a name, which is the name of the dynasty. Since China is not always a whole, sometimes there were several dynasties in the same time. For example, we all know the Song dynasty(960~1279),but in the same time, there were still other dynasties. There were Liao Dynasty (907~1125),Jin dynasty(1115~1234)(They were the ancestors of the people who created Qing dynasty),and Xixia(1038~1227). Qing dynasty(1636~1911) is the last dynasty of China.

How did living conditions for the wealthy different from those of the peasants during the Han Dynasty?

Well

Peasants commonly wore clothes made of hemp, wool, and ferret skins and many fell into debt and were forced to work as farming tenants for wealthy landlords. Each successive rank gave its holder greater pensions and legal privileges. Do u people like it... this was my ss h/w question, i'm in class 603 :) :) :) :) <3 <3

~The classes only divided people into social rank. They did not indicate wealth or power. For instance, even though peasants made up the second highest class, they were poor. Many merchants, on the other hand, were wealthy and powerful despite being in the lowest class~ From Joseph B Cavalloro Student c: I'm in 608

How did dynasties replace each other?

In the last years of dynasties, there were always a few warlords who were formerly subordinate to the central government but remained unsatisfied with the current arrangements. They took the chance of managerial disfunction caused by political corruption and social unrest in relation to local revolts, declared independence and hostility to their old master, normally in the name of justice which made their ambition and real intention unperceived. After a series of fierce confrontation, old state apparatus was broken, one warlord stood out from his peers and won the competition for the absolute power. Then, it's the time to rectify the address appropriate to the new leader of the country.

Why is the Zhou Dynasty called the Classical Age of China?

It is considered part of the classical period along with the Qin and Han. However this the term 'classical period of China' usually refers to the Han Dynasty which lasted over 400 years. They rounded out China's basic political and intellectual structure. Han rulers retained the centralized administration of the Qin but sought to reduce the brutal repression of that period. Like many dynasties, they expanded Chinese territory, pushing into Korea, Indochina, and central Asia. This expansion gave rise to direct contact with India and also allowed the Chinese to develop contract with the Parthian empire in the Middle East. The most famous Han ruler, Wu Ti enforced peace throughout much of the continent of Asia thus bringing great prosperity to China itself. - I'll stop rambling now. But please don't associate only the Zhou dynasty for the entire classical period of China. After all, what is considered the Classical Period lasted from 1000 B.C. to 500 A.D. To Zhou lasted till 256 B.C.
