Being as there are a variety of pumpkins, I would have to say that possibly it might taste different, but at the same time, I myself have never tried the white type, so it might also taste the same. The only way to know for sure is to taste them and let me know.

Batteries consist of two different metals suspended in an acidic solution. Copper and Zinc work well as the metals and the citric acid content of a lemon will provide the acidic solution.

The following is a statement received in email from Nutribiotics:

Newsgroups, email groups, and web sites have received postings to the effect that GSE contains triclosan, benzethonium chloride, or methyl paraben. The reason is that GSE is very similar in molecular weight to both benzethonium chloride and triclosan, both of which are effective disinfectants, but are toxic to human and animal life. In fact, the accusations about benzethonium chloride became so frequent that Citricidal began specifically testing each batch of GSE for its absence and providing a Certificate of Analysis to that effect.

The truth is, Citricidal is not only effective, it has been in use for over 25 years. If these allegations had any validity, there certainly would be a history of complaints and judgments against the product, and it would have been removed from the market many years ago. The US FDA made inspections of the NutriBiotic manufacturing facility back in the 1990's and found no chemical preservatives; and the formula is the same today. Such rumors are false, and are not a threat to those armed with accurate information. The reports are certainly bothersome, but they have produced "false positives", not accurate profiles. The vast body of evidence from many years of use by thousands of satisfied consumers, doctors, manufacturers, and veterinarians speaks most loudly against such reports. Citricidal and NutriBiotic GSE are proven safe and effective products.

The reason they put a lime in the neck of a corona is not to improve the taste - this is a very common misconception. The reason is simply because in Mexico (where corona originates) they put citrus fruit (lemon/lime) in the bottle to keep flies away from the beer without the use of fly spray which would alter the flavour of the beer.

I have no idea why your kumquat tree never bore fruit nor had blooms. However, I also have no idea if you live in a frost free zone, the substance you use for fertilizer, if you change the type of fertilizer during the time when you want growth and the time when you want blooms, the type of soil in which your tree is planted, nor the amount of sunlight your tree receives. All of those are important. Why don't you ask at a fertilizer store or a county agent?

I was going to reply no, but with further research, I will go out on a limb and say, maybe. I suggest buying a dwarf grapefruit tree and keeping it in a container, so it can be brought inside during the winter. It might also survive in an atrium. Interestingly, a citrus needs a chill period in the winter to produce good fruit. However, the bitter winters in your area will kill an unprotected citrus tree.

How do you know it is spoiled?

Has it been refrigerated or not?

Has the color changed over time?

Has the appearance changed over time?

Is there mold or other foreign-looking objects inside the bottle?

If lemon juice was purchased and refrigerated and has turned sort of brown in color or maybe gone a bit cloudy or has sediment on the bottom, it isn't "spoiled" per se, but for pete's sake...it's like $3 for a big bottle of the stuff...chuck what you have and buy a new one! Why take chances?

Lemon juice has a low pH (high acidity) and has a harsher environment for contaminants (such as bacteria) to live in. That's why when kept in the fridge, it lasts a lot longer than some other foods. But it can still go bad with time, like all juices.

"What are the health effects"? Well, depends if it was actually contaminated with high levels of bacteria or not and how much you drank of it. If you drank a whole bottle of grey/brown thick-as-mud lemon juice...be prepared for a rough day or 2 with effects similar to food poisoning or a stomach flu. Drink lots of water, take it easy and let yourself recover...then don't be so foolish next time.

Citrus fruits can be used to help sooth sore throats, coughs and colds, also the oil from citrus fruits peels, leaves and shoots are used to make cosmetics, perfume and aromatherapy oils. Soap is made from citrus fruits seed oils.
