It means to make a single Hard Drive into many. When you buy any hard drive it is used normally as one partition. After you format it you can change the partitioning into different sizes you want.
You can make a 500 gig hd into five 100gig partitions (it would show up as 5 different hd icons) or two 250 gig partitions, (it would show up as 2 hard drives) etc.
The down fall of having partitions is if the hard drive died ALL the partitions die with it. The partitions are still part of ONE hard drive.
First, check to make sure that the computer is plugged in.
If it isn't, then plug it in.
If it is and you still have issues, you might have a power supply problem. In which case, you need to buy a new power supply and install it, or take your computer to a computer store and have them fix it.
A power supply, when referring to computers, is that little fan/box thing that you plug the cord from the wall to the computer.
Hardware diagnosis and failure alert are handled by?
Management services.

How many types of slots does a conventional PC have?
There are no guidelines on the number of expansion slots a system can have. Depending on case style, the number can vary between zero and eight.
What does compatiblity mean in computer hardware?
Components within a computer need to be able to work with each other. this is called compatability. Usually a system builder would start with a computer CPU (Central prosessing unit) and find the best compatible motherboard for the cpu. Then from there would find the best compatible Memory, and other components
How can you modify the BIOS settings?
When the computer is booting up, there should appear briefly on the screen a short message, telling you which key to press to enter the BIOS. It could by f2 (function key), del, (escape key), Esc (escape key), etc. If you are not sure of what to do once in the BIOS, be very careful what you change!
How do you get Vista to run on a computer with no video card or no processor?
You cannot run Vista (or an other operating system) on a computer that has no processor.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of server computers?
server computers are basically computers connected to a particular server to share files ,information and other things ,it makes our day to day work easy as we can transfer and connect to many computer at a same time ,we can give same command to many computers at a same time
whereas if server is down or fails to operate all of the system will shut down ! so this is only main disadvantage in servers
An I/O interface is a facility on a computer system for input and/or output of data. An example is a USB port on a PC.
How do you redirect a serial port to output out of the parallel port?
You don't. If you are wanting to plug something into the serial port, and it is the same size as the parallel port (it isn't a parallel port, it's a different plug for the serial), use an adaptor.
I'm in the same problem. I have a laptop and a program that uses com1 and need to redirect serial communication (com1) to a parallel port since the laptop doesn't have a serial port. i have an adapter for parallel to serial connections but need to remap com1.
your can redirect lpt1 outputs with mode lpt1=com1 but not the other way round. If the laptop has usb just grab a USB to Serial Adaptor.
Am in the same boot. A Point of Sales app need to be connected via a com port for Receipt Printing... The Printer is a ESC/POS Printer but has a Parallel Connection... Works fine under Windows, but not in the POS App. What is needed is some sort of Virtual COM Port to Capture the Outputs and Redirect it the a Physical LPT Port. In doesn't sound hard, yet no ones don't it...
How do you repair a slow Acer aspire 3680?
Detail of switched mode power supply?
A switched mode (or switching) power supply is one that uses pulse-width modulation technology, rather than linear technology, to provide the voltage required to a load. Often, it requires no power transformer, nor is a great deal of power developed across the power supply, which reduces size, cost, and heat. It works by the fact that inductors resist a change in current. There is a high voltage power supply, often 160VDC running directly off the AC line. A transistor or other switching device supplies power to an inductor, which is in series with the load. There is also a Schottky diode from the input side of the inductor to ground. When the transistor is on, voltage is supplied to the inductor, which supplies current to the load. When the transistor is off, back voltage from the inductor is shunted to ground through the diode, and the inductor continues to supply current to the load. A pulse-width modulator monitors the load voltage, and adjusts the transistor on time at a high frequency. The average current flow, and thus the average load voltage, remain constant. Since the transistor turns on hard - it is in saturation - very little voltage drop is across it. As a result, very little power is developed, resulting in less overall heat.
I want to know what is the router measure is it speed or capacity if I'm going to work?
First off that enire question is spelled wrong. Second, you are not cool at all. Nerd.
What makes the computer to restart over and over is it the problem with the mother board?
It might be because there is a connection loose in the hard drive or there is a problem with windows that it can't load. try booting an operating system from a memory stick and if that works, re-install the operating system that you were first trying to boot.
8 devices:)
What does it mean when a motherboard has a 64-bit bus?
means someone needs to study for their Cisco some other way.
You can, if this photo is saved in GIF for example (or any other format that does not use any variable compression). In this case simply reduce the output image size until you get the 200kb.
If you save it into JPEG you have to reduce the size so that with average JPEG it is a little bit lower than 200kb, than slowly increase the quality of the JPEG until you reach 200kb. It is hard and there is no quarantee that you will land exactly on 200kb. It may be few kB more or less.
Try using AZImage - see reference. It is a simple to use tool that provides also the advanced features you need.
To have a quick preview search on youtube.com after "resize azimage".
What you used with the CPU heat sink or fan and what is the difference between them?
Heatsinks and fans are used on CPUs to help cool them down so that they are not destroyed. A heatsink is a piece of metal placed on the CPU to distribute heat away from the CPU itself.
If you have an 802.11n router can an 802.11g device conect to it?
Yes, the standard is backwards compatible.
What type of computer memory contains a set of instructions that is used to boot up the computer is?
RAM.
Can you get hhe gold out of computer motherboards by burning it?
Maybe so, but it won't be worth a cent. It is a TINY THIN layer of gold not worth the trouble to go after. It would cost you more to get it off than you could get from selling it.
