The ^ symbol is called a caret.

Microsoft Word Symbols calls it a Circumflex Accent which is what that symbol is called when placed above a letter in French in words like forêt.

A caret is often used to show where information or text should be added, when proofreading and editing. It is also used when using indices (mathematical term referring to X squared). They are written as X^2.

DO NOT try to rinse it off!!!! that's the worst thing you can do. water is just as damaging to a computer/keyboard than any other liquids. the best thing you can do is turn the keyboard upside down (without shaking it) and let it sit that way on a towel for a day or so. hopefully most of the water will come out and it may have no problems. this may not work, though, and the keyboard may be destroyed.

One disadvantage to using a keyboard on a laptop is the fact that it is stationary. With a desktop, your keyboard is movable.

On a Windows PC press F11.

On a Mac computer click the double arrows top right of browser. To return to regular screen press esc.

You can get to your email by opening a browser like internet explorer and typing the address of the email provider (like yahoo). Then sign in and find a button or link that says something like compose new mail. Click it and type your message, then click send.

yes well the desktops do the laptops don't a keyboard for a mac is us$79 and the mouse the same i personaly don't like the new key board it doesn't make a solid ticking noise.

This generally occurs due to a variety of odd reasons - all easily fixed. Open Accessibility Settings (if using XP) or Ease of Access (if using Vista or higher) in Control Panel. Open Keyboard Settings, and uncheck "Turn on Sticky Keys", "Turn on Toggle Keys", and "Turn on Filter Keys". Apply the settings. The Shortcut key can be used for selecting some commands. There are also many specific shortcut key combinations for commands and there are the Function keys.

On middle row there is ASDFGHJKL;'#

so hold down Shift and type '

and @ symbol appears.

The Fn button is the function key. A key that works like a shift key to activate the second function on a dual-purpose key.

This will involve making two changes: one to your keyboard, and the other to Windows. First, gently pry up the keys on your keyboard with a butter knife, screwdriver, or some other flat, sturdy object. Reinsert the keys in the Dvorak layout (there are pictures available on the internet). Next, you will need to tell Windows to use the Dvorak layout rather than QWERTY. Open your Control Panel, select "Regional and Language Options", select the "languages" tab, Click the Details button under "Text services and input languages." Click the Add button, select "Dvorak", and confirm. You should now be able to use a Dvorak keyboard.

The function of the tab button on a computer keyboard is generally used to indent when creating a new paragraph in a document. It is about the same as 5 presses of the space bar.
