I don't know about programming a keyboard to get a tab function on the right side, however a company named Zeomi makes a keyboard with a tab function on the right side. The keyboards are just about as expensive as other specialty keyboards. I have two in my office and they appear to work adequately; no known problems over the last seven months since they were purchased.

How do you turn on the Fn key?

The "Fn" key is a modifier key, much like "Shift." By itself, it does nothing. Its purpose is to use an alternative function, such as volume control or to switch to another monitor, that has been mapped to a key on the keyboard. Holding the Fn key and one of the other designated keys activates the function.

What does sticky keys do?

There are people with limited use of their fingers who can't hold down more than one key at a time. This makes it hard for them to issue a Print (command-P) or New Document (command-N) command, or Cut (command-X), Copy (command-C) and Paste (command-V) things into place.

Sticky Keys makes the computer think the modifier keys (shift, command, option, control, alt) are held down until you push the key they're modifying. So...if you want to do Print Setup in Acrobat (command-shift-P) you can push the command key, the shift key and the P one at a time rather than having to hold them all down at once.

How do you get the star symbol on the keyboard?

Go to Character Map by clicking start > all programs > accessories > system tools > character map. Selct your font and check the advanced view box. Under "Search For" type star and push enter. Any matches will be displayed for the font you selected. The search will not always work though. In some fonts it will turn up no results even though that font has the character you're looking for. Double-click the star you want and it will appear in the "characters to copy" box. Click the copy button and paste the character where you want. The best one is in the Webdings font. It's the ninteenth character on the seventh row.

Where is Alt key on my Mac keyboard?

are you gay? n00b how can you not know that?

you're too dumb for me to tell you sumthing like that

... retard

Please take no notice of the 1st answer. I'm not sure how sexual preference aids in finding a non-existent Key on a keyboard, but the spelling, lack of ability to click the spell check button and the fact that the person even bothered to login and type that, most certainly points to the insults being more of a reflection of the persons character than anything you did wrong.

Most American keyboards I have come across DO NOT have the AltGr key on them. Here is a link to a Wiki article about it:

At present I am in my office and have 4 different USB keyboards around me and none of them have a "Alt-GR" key ( 1 Dell, 1 Emprex, 1 Acer and 1 Keytronic ).

How are keyboards connected to a computer?

How do you connect a keyboard to a computer?

First, get the keyboard and look at the wire. Then, connect the wire to the USB jack to your computer. If your keyboard is older, you are going to have to get an adapter for that or if your computer has the right jack then connect it to the other, older jack. Or if you have an older computer but newer keyboad then you will still have to get an adapter unless your computer has a USB then you wont have to get an adapter! Well, that how you connect a keyboard to your computer! Your Welcome!

The number keys do not work only the symbols above the number keys?

Your Shift key may be stuck down. Also, on certain keyboards, particularly on laptops, different combinations of Shift, Caps Lock, Num Lock, Fn (function) and Ctrl can cause the machine to get into a funny state. If all else fails, try rebooting your machine. If it still persists, there may be a problem with your keyboard.

What was the other alternative keyboard to QWERTY?

There are several. But a popular one is DVORAK. Supposedly faster to type on. What I didn't like about it was that all the keyboard shortcuts I used in programs didn't work. Take Ctrl-c for example: you can hit that with just your left hand on QWERTY. But in DVORAK, the 'C' key is where the 'i' key is in QWERTY, so you have to use both hands.

The other side of the coin is: You knew you were re-learning how to type when you started learning DVORAK, so why are you complaining... :)

But in answer to your question: DVORAK
