If you get « then it is not included in your standard character set. Also Alt-169 is sometimes used for circled C.

How do you type i with accent?

í = Alt + 0237

If you are using Microsoft Word as your Word Processor, then left click on Insert at the top of the screen (top menu). Then go to Symbols and you may have the Accented alphabet there, it all depends on what has been loaded into your program.. It is possible to Download more symbols and accented letters from Microsoft. Failing that, at the point where you want the Special Character (an accented letter i) press and hold down the ALT key, press the numbers 1,6,1, (the numbers will not appear on your screen) and then release the ALT key. Also you may want to try Alt + 0237. Doing this is using ASCI symbols and you can get a whole list for just about any special set of characters.
