How can you tell if your computer screen is cracked?

One View:

Assuming that your computer monitor screen is a LCD:

Use alcohol mixing with a water soluble red color base or ink. Turn on your computer and monitor. Open a blank notepad file or some other white color background files or windows; brush the previously mentioned solution onto your screen with as little amount as possible to cover the entire screen. If there would have been a crack, the liquid mixture would permeate and fill the crack so that the crack would become visible.

After successful identification of the crack, use clear/transparent alcohol to wipe clean your screen!

Another View:

"The LCD screen by itself is a multilayer structure and the look of a cracked screen may vary, but it will usually have some crack lines and/or black stains of a spilled liquid inside.."

How much time is spent scanning across each row of pixels during screen refresh on a raster system with a resolution of 1280 by 1024 and a refresh rate of 60 frames per second?

The scan rate for each pixel row is

60 frames/sec × 1024 lines/frame = 61, 440 lines/sec

And the scan time is approximately 16.3 microseconds per scan line. (Scan time per

frame is 1/60 sec, or approximately 16.7 milliseconds.) by Rahul sagore

Which is better for your eyes a monitor that supports a 75 hz refresh rate or a 60 hz refresh rate?

For a CRT, I find 75 hz much better, particularly when under florescent lighting. Since the lights run at 120 hz, the monitor can get into a 'synch' with the lights which creates moire patterns on the screen. Changing the rate to 75 or higher prevents this from happening and reduces eye strain.

LCD screens (flat screens) are not likely to have this issue at all and it shouldn't matter.

What is the most expensive computer monitor?

I'd say the Eizo 30". It comes with it's own calibrator and stand. The resolution on it is good enough to use it for x rays. That wraparound alienware one is pretty pricey too, but it doesn't have as much y res as the Eizo.

Projectors wise, there's a 4000 pixel projector that Audi use which would be more expensive again.

Can you use your tv for your computer monitor?

Most modern televisions have an input that will support a computer display. Some have a VGA input (A D shaped connector with 15 pins). Alternatively, many computers now have a DVI output which can be connected to an HDMI input on the television. DVI to HDMI leads are easily obtained. If the computer does not have a DVI output, it is possible to get a USB based DVI display port which should do the job.

Before investing in new display outputs or cables, check the television's manual to see what it say about computer displays. Some manuals will confirm that VGA or DVI is supported while a handful may tell you they aren't. If no mention is made, the majority of televisions will support some kind of DVI output.
