If one is hoping to use an LCD TV as a computer monitor what specs are important?
There is little difference between LCD TVs and computer monitors. There are only two things that are important when choosing an LCD TV to use a computer monitor.
First, make sure the native resolution of the TV is suitable for the computer. Most modern computers can output 16 : 9 format displays, which the TV is likely to be. If the PC doesn't have a widescreen display, a new display card will fix the problem.
Second, make sure the TV has a VGA input if the PC is VGA output. If the computer has a DVI output, then a simple DVI-HDMI adapter cable will connect to the HDMI input of the LCD TV.
