How do you get rid of dots that keep on appearing on your computer screen when ever you run your mouse over the screen?

I shake my screen around a bit and bend it (if you have a laptop) (i know that sounds bad) but trust me, it gets rid of them. But i think they appear because of a default in the screen that can be fixed by actually taking it apart and finding out what the problem really is. But try my horrific method above and it should temporarily get rid of those dots unless you move the screen in some odd way or something.

What happens by default when a file is double clicked?

The computer will attempt to open the file. If it has an extension for software that is on your computer that application will then open and the file will be opened in it. If there is no software that can open it, it will alert you and give you the chance to pick something to open it with. If you do not have any appropriate software, it will not open it. Some files are designed not to be opened, by users, like programs or some files that support the operating system. Programs will run, but you will not see the content of the file. How do you get the computer to recognize the mouse?

Usually windows uses generic drivers to see a device, so usually when you plug it in

even though it can't run without the drivers, windows will still see it and ask for the drivers.

Could be a bad device. You can try and install the drivers for it and see if windows

sees it after they are installed.

You can also try going to, - start button, control panel, add/remove hardware, after you plug in the device and point windows to the device, follow the directions of the program.

So, to answer your question, usually no matter what you plug in, windows sees that you plugged something in and will ask you for the drivers.

This is based on windows, if your OS is vista, or win 7, it will see most everything.

If your OS is Linux this is different. If someone is running Linux, they probably wouldn't

ask this question because they would know. Windows was designed so people who do not know how to run a computer can. The real operating system is Linux.
