How do you turn off the hourly beep on an Aspen p-jadae watch?
I'm not sure how closely it resembles my Aspen P-JADDC but please see below.
Button Legend:
1 - Illuminate (top left)
2 - Mode (bottom left)
3 - Start / Stop (top right)
4 - Reset (bottom right)
To turn hourly beep / chime on and off:
While holding #4, press #2. You should see the days of the week at the top of the display either show up or disappear.
I hope this helps...
An LDR (light-dependent resitor) is a particular type of semiconductor (A material with a conduction rating in between that of a conductor and an insulator i.e. electricity flows through a semiconductor slower than through a conductor, but quicker than through an insulator).
Consider an atom as made up of just a nucleus with bound electrons. These electrons require varying amounts of energy to 'escape' from the atom. The semiconductor, as all known matter, is made up of atoms.
Light can currently be explained as being made up of packets of waves called photons where the frequency of these waves determines how much energy they are associated with (Energy = h * frequency: where h is a constant).
Therefore, if light associated with enough energy stikes the semiconductor, then the electrons requiring the equivalent energy to break the bonds will escape.
Electricity is concerned with a flow of electrons, therefore electrons escaping means there is an increase in electrical current.
This increased electrical current is equivalent to a drop in resitance and thus fluctuation in particular frequencies of light affects the resistance of the semiconductor.

Clocks get turned BACK one hour - an easy way to remember this operation is "Spring Forward, Fall Back."

Is it worth fixing an iron that keeps blowing fuses in your house?
It may not be the iron that is the problem. It might be what else is on that same circuit that you plug the iron into. To check the problem out, unscrew the fuse and see what else on the circuit shuts off. If there are any loads that can be unplugged do so. Then try the iron again and see if the fuse blows. Try the iron in another plug from a different circuit, if a different fuse blows then its time to get a new iron.
You must loot his corpse and take the armour.

What is the effective value of 200 volts peak-to-peak?
200 volts peak-to-peak is 100 volts peak, which is 70.7 volts rms (standing for root-mean-square) also called "effective". This 70.7 volts is the DC voltage with the same heating power as the peak-to-peak. The relationship is: rms (aka RMS) equals peak-to-peak divided by 2, then divided again by square-root of 2 (1.414). The division by 2 gets us from peak-to-peak to just peak. The next division takes us to rms. If you get an AC voltrage with no description, for exmple 120 volts AC, it is RMS (effective). The USA AC standard supply voltage is 120 (also called 117) volts RMS. The USA peak is 117 x 1.414 (square root of 2) = 165 volts peak, = 330 volts peak-to-peak.
